No wonder I cannot pick up any New Bedford channels. It should be available for residents to hear what's going on while it's happening around us. It's our tax dollars that support the city, we should be able to hear what's going on publicly.

I agree with BLB71, we should be able to hear what's going on in our own city where all are tax dollars are going. This is another waste of our city budget. With the city already spending thousands upon thousands of $$ on the RT-18 project I don't think this is the time to revamp the whole entire police department with digital communications. The analog system was working just fine. Don't fix what isn't broken I say.

New Bedford is not encrypted. Its is plain digital. You will need to buy a 400 dollar scanner.
