Massachusetts encourages speculative commercial wind turbine investments in what would otherwise be unprofitable enterprises at taxpayer expense. The legal expenses in Fairhaven show the faults of state government.
The Massachusetts state government incentives encourage poor turbine siting in areas.
When the maintenance costs rise, even taxpayer handouts cant maintain the financial viability of poorly-sited wind projects, as shown by over 10,000 abandoned wind towers in the United States.
