Judged by old timer standards I might be considered a new comer, but I have been a resident a while. What strikes me odd and this post might make me unpopular, but "I could not give a flip"
We seem to have an over abundance of residents adverse to growth and change and there might well be some represented on the chamber.
Most towns with a chamber and a city council work together to arrive at endeavors that lead to growth and change. a mind set that seems to be lacking here.
Ok come on make your voice heard take your best shot.

What I found strange, as a person who hasn't lived in Fairfield since before God made dirt, is how the Mayor could either appoint himself, or be appointed as City Administrator. Conflict of interest, I'd certainly think so.

Being active in local government for years where I used to live, it is ONLY the city council that can stop or approve new businesses from coming into the city limits. What are they afraid of?

This county and city makes enough in property and mineral taxes to offer outstanding tax incentives for new businesses to come into Fairfield. Same goes for the County Commissioners.

The "Good old boy" system is alive and well in Fairfield and Freestone county. The oil and gas "mail box money" isn't going to last forever.

I'm wondering what's with that too. Shows me from Lemesa. Never been there. I live in Fairfield.
