Got a $96 traffic camera ticket...I encourage everyone who has gotten one of these tickets to TAKE YOUR REVENUE OUT OF NEW MIAMI Ohio. There are many other places to shop and buy gas! I PROMISE it will be the last dollar I ever spend in their ghetto!!!!!!

I have no clue where New Miami is or when I was there. Nor do I know what road they're talking about on the ticket. Never had a ticket in my life yet I come home to a $95 ticket. What good does it do to send out tickets without making people aware they were doing something when they're doing it. Other than robbing people of their hard earned. Its like spanking a child 4 hours after he/she did something you didnt like. You want to bring income to your town, do something to you town that makes people want to come and spend their money. Not something that makes someone avoid and angry at you. See you in court!

Guess I will put my 2 cents in. I just got my ticket in the mail for 95 dollars. It says I was going 48 in a 35 zone. I was driving to Queen City comics from New Paris, Ohio. I obey the speed laws. I don't remember seeing any speed limit signs. I'm going to revisit this location and check for speed limit signs. I might end up contesting the ticket. It feels like a speed trap. From what I read they had to void 1600 tickets from another spot because the camera was hidden. At 95 bucks a pop, that 152 thousand dollars! I wonder if Ohio does end up outlawing the cameras if they will have to pay everyone back.

My wife received a ticket in the mail from New Miami. The problem was they read the license plate wrong. We do not own a big truck or have a X in any of our license plates.

no one is harking on the new miami pd, nichole. It has been however, found to be unlawful and you do not have to pay the fines. If you do pay you will have the point, out your hard earned money that you didn't need to spend, and you cannot over turn it.

A few of my friends have received several tickets from that specific spot. The tickets all said that they were going 46 in a 35 zone...hmm sounds like its a trap!

I have gotten 3 from there in January I asked for a hearing and they have just now scheduled it for April 13th. Sounds like they are really concerned about it to me. And really court at 9am on a Saturday?! All of my tickets had me at the exact same speed. I know someone else who it got at the exact same speed. It seems that camera like the number 46. I won't deny I was probably speeding but had an actual cop pulled me over the first time and ticketed me I would have been more aware. Not waiting until I got one in the mail then the second and third. I was more aware after the first one. But if these cameras are supposed to assist in freeing officers up for safety in other parts of town why was a cop sitting there running radar a month ago where these cameras are ticketing? Trust me had a cop pulled me over in that spot with the cameras I would have told him to shove it and point at the camera and say if I was speeding I have mail coming. The village businesses are going to start to lose money because of these when people are avoiding the town. Oh and I noticed this morning that the speed limit was changed at the beginning of the bridge to 55 which is where the camera captures your photo. And in the last week they have just put up photo enforcement signs. Seems fishy like they are trying to cover their behinds to make more of the tickets stick. But I am doing my research they won't like me on Saturday when I appear in court!

I also find it interesting that nearly half of the money from the fines go to a company in MARYLAND ! If you are going to use a speed trap on Ohio citizens...why in the world would you DONATE nearly half the money to a state 8 hours away! To say this is anything more than a scam is ridiculous. Leave it to Ohio, if we can't tax you into hating living here...we will fine you until you do!

If you don't pay the fine, my understanding is that the citation is turned over to a credit agency which, in turn, ruins your credit. On top of that, you won't be able to renew either your Ohio driver's license or license plate when either becomes due.

Hi Joe, did yu contest it? My husband, along with many other cars who were going to a retreat over the weekend of April 21st, got one ticket and some got two when they returned home going through New Miami. Some of them are talking about not paying and contesting it in court. I just wondered what you did about it back in March. Email us if you will. Wesnocs@aol.com Thanks! Bobby and Melissa Owens

The Hamilton County's court decision versus Elmwood place was based upon the failure for due process, and the ability to contest the ticket within the guidelines.
But THAT county's decision may be over turned since the whole issue of speed cameras was taken all the way up to the State of Ohio's supreme Court a few years ago, and it was upheld.
Speed cameras are legit and helps enhances the safety of our community when the word goes out to slow down on our streets.
The issue before the state legislature in removing these cameras will be hotly contested by the FOP and the entire safety community (Fire and EMS). When safety is questioned, people will vote on the side of caution.

My daughter got married at Lake Lyndsay April 20th and myself and several people attending the wedding received tickets. One person received 2. I am angry and very upset about this. The interesting thing is the speed limit we were all supposedly clocked doing by this "reliable" speed camera. We were clocked at 46 . Seems that something is amiss. Really wanting to challenge this.
