Written between 1915 and 1974, P. G. Woodhouse's "Jeeves and Wooster" series can hardly be called "19th century.

Being slow to anger is quite a different skill than passive aggressive annoyance. A lot of damage is done with the latter behavior. There are alternatives to uncontrolled outbursts of anger that are more helpful and less harmful to the angry individual and those around him or her than being passive aggressive. I hope you grow into better options.
