way to go CTPOST... printing the names of the home owners.. FOR WHAT???? does this show you know how to do an investigation... somethings are better not printed. This may be a suicide, show some dignity.... I guess common sense is not so common

The Post can't wait to release bad news, even if it's not accurate, like the story last weekend about the unfortunate event in Oxford. The Post portrayed the story inaccurately by stating that the 13 year old boy was swimming.

CT Post you have a big ego because you win awards. Unfortunately your news reporting is often inaccurate and very misguided and untimely.

It happens over and over when reporting these tragic stories. I seem to recall some terrible inaccuracies in the horrific accident story that happened on Main St in Trumbull several months ago.

Of course when you can't even report a street name with accuracy, how can you get the facts correct?

My exact thought when I read your story about this tragedy was perhaps the victim committed suicide. Just because the Major Crime Squad was there doesn't mean what you allude to.

Report the real factual information for a change. Anyone can get the factual info you reported - the names of the homeowners.

Give the poor people a break before you start! Obviously something very tragic happened there!

So what do you want to do BAN GUNS? So itís the guns fault? Obviously someone pulled the trigger (he did himself) and my condolences to the family. So now if he hung himself do you want to BAN ROPES? Or if he fell on a knife you want to BAN KNIVES? OMG When will people get it? GUNS DONT KILL - PEOPLE DO will you please educate yourself.

Unfortunately, people want to know to determine if it someone they know. The information will be available to the public anyhow. By printing the names some people may be less stressed when they learn it happened to someone they don't know (albeit still a tragedy) and may be better prepared to handle the news especially if their children will find out about in school.

The information is public knowledge. You probably didnt know that. get educated before you start calling names.

I am a parent of a child who knew this boy and the school had made an announcement this morning. These kids are devasted by this loss. They also will come to this site and see the comments being left by people. All the "Comment Drama" as Maria said it best Is really not called for let the family and friends of this young boy grieve in peace. This is a tragedy either way. My sympathy and thoughts are with his family and friends as well as my own child who was friends with him.

Only if you go and retireve the Police report. What average person is interested in the Homeowners name, except of course that it now embarrases the homeowner who's phone will now be wringing off the hook. Ther was no positive value in PUBLILY declaring the homeowners name in newsprint.

i live in the town of fairfield, I'm a 17 year old senior and i am far from trigger happy. Theyve been announcing left and right in schools the name of the teen and that it was indeed a suicide. fairfield is not a bad town and it doesnt matter how many guns are accesable to the youth. i feel like you people are missing the bigger picture. there was a young man who felt like he had no one and no place to turn to, he thought that killing himself was a better option then seeing the light of another day. the connecticut post was out of line with posting the names of the home owners, but for god sakes, everyone posting, show some respect to the deceased. i didnt know him personally, but if that were youre child or your friend...

Your an a*%!!!! DId you ever hear of being human or having some sort of morales???? Oh, sorry, that common sense, another thing you don't seem to have. The CT Post can report it without the names. CT POst does not give a rats ass about CT residents.

Whether it is public knowledge or not, the media is heartless. That is the point being made. Many times the media will print information that is not necessary and that is what is basically being stated. In this case, it was not necessary to print the names of the homeowners, perhaps the homeowners aren't even related, maybe the family is renting. Also, it was not necessary to print the address either, as this will cause gawkers to drive around there out of curiosity.

I am a student of fairfield warde high school, when i walked into school this morning i had no idea what was going on, soon later to find out that one of my classmates was found dead. It is a very sad thing and as you walk down the halls of this school you can feel how eary it is, and hear the echos of crying friends and teachers who are in mourning.. It doesnt matter how this happened, nothing matters except the fact that he is no longer here with us today.....
