Looks like it's only a matter of time before the board decides De La Torre isn't good enough and needs replacing.

Gee Willie.... Now that things are settled, I feel like outing you today. You are the one who argued against interviewing the #6 candidate on the finalists list..... and that one was a local candidate. So, what you meant to say is that you wanted "your local candidate".

leave it up to willie to be the thorn! dude, you didn't even show up for the candidate interviews and there you are up in arms to the paper. tell your constituents that it is only your opinion that counts. you don't "represent" those that voted you in. now don't go telling people this wasn't your choice because frankly you didn't make it a priority to even take the time to go and do your duty. isn't one of the trustee top priorities "selecting District leadership"? face it willie, you are not doing your job so stop putting on the show!

Willie Gandara is opposed to hiring someone out of state because he will not be able to "CONTROL" the board as he does the current one.

The winds of change are upon you Willie. You will not win re-election, we all can see where "your" vested interests lay; unfortunately it's not the kids of SISD!

VOTE WILLIE GANDARA OUT!!!!
Say good night Willie!

Students that interviewed the candidates liked the smart one over the more good looking one. The board likes the good looking one that will probably leave in a year. Stop being shallow. The board needs to start listening to the ones that matter most instead of themselves. They are here to serve the people not their own thoughts. Did you ask your people before you voted or did you just make up your mind? Great disappointment here. Just goes to show how much our board continues to digress. Those Cali ideas will be a thorn among our community.

Too many armchair quarterbacks that don't have a clue. With that in mind, I want all of you who are against me to get a broom stick and shove it up in your colon area and then say outloud,"We want Willy, we want Willy...

Many people in SISD liked Dr. Monreal better than Dr. DeLaTorre. He seemed to be a better fit. No one thinks Dr. DeLaTorre will stay very long. He is interested in moving up and California is the only home he has ever known. He will probably return. We will see what changes he brings to SISD. There will be plenty. California is very different in the structure of their school districts and Dr. DeLaTorre did defend the California system. I thought Dr. Monreal was the best candidate. I also wonder how much the board members listen to anyone
besides the teacher association. It would be nice if they would think about the students but that seems to be too much to hope for with this group. I hear disappointment from many. There is an election in May and that will bring new board members it always does. We will see what happens from here---the continuing saga of SISD.

Oh, please. I heard JUST as many people say they like De La Torre more than the other guy. Sheesh! Yep, it's time to vote Willie out, just wish it was this year. Why else do you think he put his kid up to run? He knows his days are numbered! Bye, bye Willie, you have shirked your duty one too many times, and the voters KNOW it.

Hmmm... maybe this was not a bad move from the SISD board. Maybe this De La Torre guy will cut some of the top heavy staff at the District Service Center, starting with the number of Assistant Sups he will have on his cabinet. Never have I seen an institution that bullies its employees around like they do! No respect for those hard working individuals. Good thing is that teachers can close their doors and enjoy their work with our kids!

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Aquarius

It's so easy to deceive yourself in some way today, especially if you allow wishful thinking to get the upper hand. Don't ignore some unpalatable facts, Aquarius, or the situation will be compounded. Are you trying to keep on the right side of someone you admire or respect? Does this mean presenting a false or highly selective image of yourself? I hope not.
