The Alabama version of the Las Vegas Mob. But in Vegas they do have real gambling, real casinos and real entertainment. Too bad so many Alabamians can see the stars but still not see the light. A bunch of knee jerk reactors. Idiots like Guy Hunt. Roy Moore. Cloud the issue of governance. As simple as separation of church and State.
If just one honest judge on the Alabama Supreme Court looked at the Original Intent of the various gambling legislation it should be obvious that Bingo, among others, is being conducted outside the scope of the intent of enabling legislation; therefore ALL places should be Shut Down. Now. Close down ALL Bingo and ALL games of chance, or whatever you want to call them. It is a damned shame that Riley's hand has been in the pockets of the Mississippi bunch. Wonder how low in their pockets? Unless Alabama 1/ develops and adopts a New Real Constitution; and 2/ the Legislature passes a bill that gives a level playing field; respect for the Law in Alabama will continue to erode. 1/ and 2/ will probably not occur until Hell Freezes Over. And corruption will continue, from the Halls of Birmingham, Jefferson County, and Milt McGregor to the Halls of the Legislature.
Maybe? the FBI will dig out enough more corrupt politicians to send the others packing.
Power Corrupts. Corruption, whether in Birmingham or Tuskegee, or White House, or Dothan, should be traceable back to the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches. In short, The Whole State. Clean House now.
