Someone better get a handle on the incompetence of the dispatching by 911 and the Sheriff's office before someone gets seriously hurt. Policy and procedure should be created and followed to avoid confusion and liability. Failure to follow policy and procedure should result in disciplinary action.

It should, but it won't. Lodge your complaint, good luck, nothing will happen.

OK Home Townee from Creston, IA... let's talk. What's wrong with the dispatchers? If you can do better apply for a job. Don't post if you can't back it up. sounds like you might be a fired employee. "It Should from Holts Summit, MO" what's your beef? Do you have a personal incident where something happened? Most People with actual complaints would post their real names.

911 dispatched officers to 10th and Main in Rock Port for someone who had slit their wrists. Rock Port doesn't have a 10th Street!

Result:
Confusion by Rock Port Officers
Confusion by Tarkio Officers
Confusion by County Officers
Delay in response time to victim

Policy and Procedure Example:
Keep caller on line
Locate address on map
Confirm address with caller
CPR certified

One thing wrong with our dispatcher line up is that they do not qualify even remotely for their position. How does one become a dispatcher for emergency calls yet cannot instruct a person how to deliver CPR. Isn't that a no brainer for whoever hired you, to maybe ask, can you assist a caller on performing simple tasks such as CPR, how to safely exit a car or house in the event of an accident? I understand, its Atchison County. Slim pickins, but come on. If a member of my family died simply because of your incompetence, I would sue the entire department, anyone I could and I wouldn't stop until somebody buried me. Get a certificate, got one? Go get re-certified. It's not bad to over achieve. You can never be too safe Ms. Dispatcher. I thought preventative care was crucial for every area of relief. Let's get it together ladies. Try getting up from your rolling chair and doing some cardio, yoga, anything besides breathing and getting paid for it. Just because you hate yourself doesn't mean anybody else needs to suffer or die because of it. There is a life that hangs in the balance every phone call you recieve on their end there is panic they reach out desperately to your lazy ass on the other end....doesn't at all make sense. Inadequate, incompetent, uneducated and over paid. Go home and eat. Let someone actually qualified have this position. Ridiculous!

CPR Certified seems you can do a better job than what's being done. Maybe they should be up off their lazy asses and doing some cardio, yoga or anything else besides breathing when the calls come in. Yes that would be wonderful. they name calling shows the maturity level. After your last comments I'll say again. If you can do better then apply for the job. I know for a fact that no one is over paid. And as for being inadequate well it's a person that is up on 12 hours shifts, all night, just waiting to take emergency calls. You try it.

I agree there is no 10th ST in Rock Port. But luckily some of the things scanner land hears isn't always all the info that the officers have. They knew who they were looking for and found her right away, on Main St.

Should RP sheriff's office dispatchers be allowed to threaten kids sitting in the Casey's parking lot?? Should the same dispatcher be allowed to call kids and their parents names on public forums such as Facebook? I guess I thought their job was to answer phones and dispatch? Look out Mr. Herron, it looks like there is a new judge with her own jury in town!

Any citizen can say something to someone at Casey's if they think they are out of line. Threatening them?(NO) The face book name calling is not ever appropriate. Some of the kids in this town need someone to say something because their parents are not doing the job......

You all are so pathetic. If no one ever caused anything in the first place, there shouldn't be any complaints about the dispatchers. It's all the stupid, idiotic, immature kids in this town that do stupid stuff and then try to blame the dispatchers on all their problems. They obviously have NO LIVES if all they have to do is cause drama with adults in this town. You don't run this town you idiots.

"Just Saying" lets talk. I guess I'm the dispatcher you are talking about although about the only thing that is true is that I'm a dispatcher and I answer phones. I never Threatened any kids at Casey's parking lot. I never called their parents names on Facebook. I'm not judge and jury so judge Herron doesn't need to worry. Now do you want to hear what's going on? those 3 boys are the ones who came up to me in my car in front of my house and tried starting shit.... their parents should make them stay inside after they vandalized Tarkio. I never called their parents names, I said I think 2 of the parents are good parents... I don't know the other 2, that was before Eric Duncan was named. So saying at least 2 of the parents are good simply meant I don't know the other parents. None of this has anything to do with my work. I haven't gotten my work involved even after they ran over my cat and laughed about it at school. Why does this have to do with me being a dispatcher? Show your name I would love to fill you in on everything they have said and done to me and my family, and they started this.

Luckily the slip of the tongue was fixed in seconds. All us dumb dispatchers at the SO and cops knew to ask for the correct location. The woman was found and everyone got there in time.
