This guy can't even control his own family. How would he control a city?

Please tell me how you control a family. If you think that is possible, you are fooling yourself. The very idea that if you follow some imaginary parenting plan, all will be smooth sailing is laughable! Stay in your glass house and hurl stones....I bet you will break a window or two.

There are many functional "in control" families. There is no set plan but there is a blueprint that a real parent(s) can follow. I have no comment about Mr. Noland, I don't know him. I respect the possibility of him running for office. My comment is to you and so many others that believe parenting and functional families are so difficult to achieve. One of the key components is a level of sacrifice that many "parents" today do not want to do. You don't parent from a bar stool 5 nights a week, when your high, when your cheating on your spouse, when you would rather be somewhere else than at home with your family all the time, When your on face book, video games, and texting continuously, when your not working or trying to work to provide for your family. Many just don't want to hear it......

You have really put yourself in the pulpit with this statement. You are intertwining the term "in control" with "functional" and unless you are the original poster on this thread, it is presumptuous of you to respond to my statement. While I do not disagree that solid parenting requires much parental sacrifice, it IS laughable to think that if you do ALL things a FUNCTIONAL parent should, you will be exempt from any parental heartache. I have been witness too many times to children from "GOOD" families, with "GOOD", supportive, encouraging, parents who have difficulties in their lives brought on by THEIR choices, not the choices of their parents. If you have no examples of this perhaps you are too young and full of ideology and then I feel sorry for you because you have a lot of hard lessons to learn.

Some of your points are valid. Why do so many have a hard time if someone believes that good parenting can be accomplished. There is no perfect parent or plan but good parenting and good children most often fall in line. I have more examples than you would want to hear about. I have walked the line of parenting, mostly as a single parent. I have not done it alone, but the results have proven this theory can work. My lessons have been learned long ago. I was just smart enough to actually study ahead and along the way for the test.Where did I say anything about being "exempt"?All parents can do is set examples,be supportive, sacrifice, and believe that their children will not fall too far from that path.... oh,by the way,I do a "little" more than talk about this on Topix. Most parents that complain about their children need to look in the mirror...

I heard he plans on firing all the city employees and bringing in all new people. I also heard he plans on bringing a new bar into the town.

I think firing all city employees would be good for tarkio. I think they are all over paid anyway. Donny for mayor hell yeah.

I think a new bar would help this town a lot. The one we have is to expensive and the owners are full of drama. The mayor does not have the power to fire anyone. It has to be approved by the city council.

"Kindl Cohn Deputy Sheriff's said they would have a pass cause the new trucks were ordered to stay out of the hail. Rock Creek is high so I moved my picnic table and dad's chairs as far up as I could this morning.

That's total B.S. During the storm and power outage I noticed lights outside my house and saw a Tarkio police officer it the rain pulling tree limbs out of the street. Totally bogus statement about them not being out
