"McClellan, a 47-year-old mother of eight, could face up to four years in prison. Her defense attorney, Anthony Lowenstein, said he would request probation."

This is what is wrong with our system. Attorney's like Lowenstein. Probation is what he is seeking here? This is the message he sends thieves! "Come one, come all, steal and I'll get you off." Let him pay the elderly folks back their money, the low life attorney. These victims and all the future victims are at the mercy of lawyers and judges who allow this travisty to continue in our courts with a slap on the wrist! And people keep wondering what is wrong with our society. Look to the people who contribute to the ills of our society, lawyers and judges!!

Whoa, don't forget the legislatures who tell the judges not to sentence non-violent crimes, i.e. embezzlement, to prison, because there is no room. The low life attorney (and he is the sleaziest) is defending his client to the best of his ability, so it really is not his fault.

It is the politicians, who won't back judges who give deserved prison sentences, and who won't pass new felony laws because of three strikes. Because the times change and people find new ways to commit crimes, as in mortgage scams, there needs to be new laws with teeth to combat these crooks! But as long as partisian politics are involved, sadly nothing will change.

I knew it. She is being railroaded by thug county prosecutors who simply want to "look good" to the seniors of Marin though the IJ. They are essentially campaigning for future office while destroying this poor womans life. These thugs are unionized doncha know, so...they LAUGH at law and order.
The crony judge will tip his hat to the prosecution as a way of appeasing the "victins"
This is RACISM...this is SEXISM..this is CLASSISM.
Ahhhhhhhh....this must be my home.
Is this why all these Marin moms are claiming that their 16 year olds have "mental illness" or " fancy unheard of ailments( like Jack Kennedy's Addisons disease)?
Do these moms seek to protect their children from even TRYING to make a living...right out of the gate?
Is it really that hopeless?
Where is pres. Oh Bummer on this? Bet it's happening nationwide.

Are you one of the "victims" family members who set up this poor woman?
You realize that the word is out....right...that is, that these "victims" are NOT the kind of folks ANY decent in home worker should trust. These folks have just insured that they will get the WORST sleazeball IHW available. Ahhh...no fools like old fools.

Set up this poor woman? Are you out of your mind? This "poor" woman stole $80,000 from a 98 year old and a 92 year old. She obviously wasn't thnking of her 8 children when she did this. How can you possibly say this is racism, sexism and classism? To say your comments are disgusting is an understatement!

Gary...you know as well as the rest of us that a plea deal is NOT an admission...yet you say it is in the HEADLINE. If you are a responsible reporter (loud laughter), you will write a retraction in the paper. You know better...clean it up.
Methinks you have been "absorbed" to some degree by the culture you report on.
Sit ups and walking will help to....clear you out. I want the "old version" of Gary Klein.
Also...please listen to Sympathy for the Devil (rolling stones) 3 times LOUD.
That should do the trick.

Hey wake and bake...you are gullible and easily mislead. Why do you believe she did it?
Is it because Gary INSINUATED that she did it the title of the piece? Let me guess...you voted for pres. Oh Bummer, didn't you. He played you just like Gary did. LOL.
Ever heard of newspapers supporting whatever regime is in power...without REAL challenge?
Well, Oh Bummer is just about to give the Garys of America a big fat bummer to cover up.
WAR WAR WAR. He even has called it the "Right War". Maybe he will draft YOUR children to fight the unbeatable Afghanis.
I singularly seek to STOP THIS WAR before the commies crank it up.
So go ahead, oh Wakeful One, keep on placing stones...I will overturn them faster than you can place them. Why?
Because I walk like the A ROD stares down a pitcher
I sing like the Muslim prayer callers, the Baptist Evangelizers, and the croaking toad who's needin' to get some. Yes, I stole the line from Jim Croce..and I'm proud of it.

What is important is that the IJ didn't mention the thief's immigrant status, nor her country of origin. Good job IJ! Those valiant seekers of the truth -- kicking-in-door reporters they are. Oh, oops, I mean "Journalists."

For Defense Lowenstein ... perhaps a new moral low but the money tastes good.

If it where a US born male in front of the judge, it would be San Quentin time.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Leo

The atmosphere is highly combustible today, with people getting in a stew over the smallest little thing. You will also have a tendency to get hot under the collar, especially if someone isn't doing things as quickly as you'd like. Try to stop yourself getting in a rage because once that happens it will be difficult to cool down again. Maybe you need some fresh air?
