How about allowing a city resident to get 3 tickets per year voided?
Keep the law but have a process to forgive tickets for residents and their visitors.

6 street? Hardly qualifies as an ordinance change. And it adds up to only about $4000 yearly in fines collected. How much did the parking patrol cost?
"Only a few streets in San Anselmo are wide enough, or have sections that are wide enough, including San Francisco and Los Angeles boulevards, Richmond and Bolinas roads, and Austin and Belle avenues."

The streets are 99% passable during the day. At night when people are home and the streets fill with cars, parking where ever they can find a spot, it becomes very difficult to navigate the streets (especially the streets in the hills) when responding to a fire or medical emergency in a fire engine or paramedic rescue. My opinion is to keep the ban in place. I wish Fairfax would consider doing the same.

i have driven big truck all around the hlly areas of san selmos fairfax

and its smaller than a fire truck the free path is important

during firetraining day in mill vlalley years ago one of the things learned was being able to drive to some of the location was difcult for thw fire trucks

if i was the fire boss i would or would have alraedy driven all the roads with the fire truck to find any problem areas for getting emegancy vhiclas thier

but the abnormal day can have unknow cars or other obsruction to emergancy vehicals path

This is ridiculous. It is not about trucks being able to pass, they allow numerous "hardship" passes. If you have permitted cars already on the street, how would unpermitted cars make it any harder to pass?

Permits are easy to get. Go down to the Police and turn in a form. Turn in a second one when they lose your first. Turn in a third when they deny your application yet somehow give your neighbor one with fewer drivers and more off-street parking. Try to escalate it to the chief but fail getting past the angry woman at the counter.

Yeah why is the PD so rude to us the citizens of San Anselmo? We pay their salaries I thought.
It must be the incredible stress of all those calls about barking dogs and magazine sellers.

I say merge the SA and Fairfax PD's.
I am tired of wasting money.

Thank god I live in unincorporated Fairfax and you dont have any say about our parking situations. If you have a problem with a certain parking spot work it out but making parking on any street in a town past 2 am is not reasonable.

The SAPD is the rudest department of all time and I'm sick of seeing them harass people on their $25,000 toy harleys they should have never been provided with by the taxpayers in the first place. Rob Sneider and Julie Gorwood are true %$#@%s that dont deserve to wear badges.

Yeah. I was shocked to be treated so rudely by the SAPD. Why do we need so many police in a town with so little crime?
And when there is a crime like the vandalism on Floribel then they are 100% useless. What are we paying for? If its just taking reports then I suggest we hire a report taker for 1/3rd the wage.

I think the parking ordinance should go street by street. It makes sense that if you live on a narrow hill street that street parking is not going to work out but there are other areas down inthe flats where parking on one side or the other of the street is entirely feasible.
