I don't know dude.Six steaks, other groceries, beer, fifty two whip cream cans etc.Anyway, calculating all that, and factoring it in with the content grin in his mugshot as if to say,"yeah,I did,it was awesome,it was worth it,and if it was wasn't quite so costly I'd happily do it again",,,I believe that we're simply lookin' at an impoverished man who for some reason was faced with the reality that if he was ever gonna spend one luxurious night in "paradise" like he wanted,,,that he was gonna have to take it (like the guy in "Cool Hand Luke" that ran up and stole the pie).Me,,,I can't help it,,,I immediately liked the guy when I heard his story and pieced that together with that 'mona lisa' smile in his mugshot that I had just seen about thirty minutes prior while checking the jail site.I mean honestly, when this man hit that uncontrollable euphoric urge to take what he wanted in life,,,he didn't rob liquor stores all the way to the Mexican border,he didn't rape his fantasy girl,he didn't kill anybody,he didn't strong arm rob anybody,he didn't break into a pharmacy and spend his one fantasy in life snorting opana all night,,,just eat some steak and drank some beer.In short,,,he didn't really leave any victims behind when the worst of his demons finally decided to surface,,,so I hope he don't get it too hard for his crime.

Really sad about this guy. Wonder why he is homeless, his brother Shawn works for Ramey garage door company. You would think either him or the guys parents would would help him out. Really sad this guy needs help, he obviously is not a mean person because all the people involved with his arrest said he was cooperative. At least now in jail maybe he wii get some help . I think it is so sad and lonely when your own family is not there to support you. Maybe now with all this attention he will get some much needed help. Good luck to him. I hope he gets his life together. Shame, shame, shame to his family for not giving him a place to live.

I agree, while what he did was not right, there were a lot worse things he could have done. I know he has to pay but I hope they go easy on him.

I agree one-hundred percent that this guy is harmless. As a matter of fact, when a guy spends any length of time fighting the element, fighting hunger, fighting lack of sleep, and fighting desperation as well,,,his judgment's not only gonna be impaired,,,but whatever mean and evil is locked up inside of him will be lurking about right on the surface (but I didn't see any at all in this guy).Honestly,,,I wish I could afford to bail him out,buy him lunch and put him to work.

Good morning Melvin.Well,it's actually hard to sidestep the fact that he's guilty of burglary. However,I believe it's clear that survival was "pretty much" his intent, and desperation was pretty much the main motivator. That alongside of the fact that the public's already crying out on his behalf,,,means that the court system has the necessary extenuating circumstances to show lenience to this man if they choose. And like you,,,I'm really hoping they do so.

Well,,,desperation added to euphoria and multiplied by nothing to lose is likely the only buzz he had when he went into the building. However,I'm thinking that the wippits, the cold beer, and the heart burn from six steaks is the buzz that made him stick around to the cops showed up.

This is an easy one, he needed a place to live with three meals a day, free medical care and cable t.v. so he had a good time in order to achieve it. Sort of like suicide by cop.

Same thing crossed my mind at one point in this game Otis.'Three hot's and a cot'.Another reason I like this Runyon guy actually. When he foresaw just that, and knew that breaking the law was probably his only option,,he kept it simple, didn't get too ambitious,,,and neither hurt nor attempted to hurt anybody.God bless him.

I'm not surprised to see one criminal supporting another... However, the guy obviously has drug issues, which was likely his motivator and not "survival". I don't sympathize with anyone who takes something he did not earn....unlike Spartan, whose own bro' is in jail for burglary.

Honestly,it doesn't surprise me to find out where you stand on this issue. However,(and this is the honest truth),,,it does surprise me that it took you this long to jump in here with where you stand. In short,(and still telling the honest truth),,,I expected this to be post number three,,,immediately after I posted post number two.So if you don't mind my askin',,,why the apprehension kiddo???

And while I happen to be thinkin' about it,,,have you "ever" been so cold, hungry and desperate that jail didn't seem all that bad???? If you haven't,,,then your opinion doesn't logically carry any weight on this thread. In short,,,public opinion "blasted" your opinion before your advisers even told you what your opinion is.Anyway,,have a good day kiddo.

i know what your saying and it's true. People should always ask instead of stealing. I don't know about his background or really any of the circumstances ,but sometimes when people are down and out they may ask for help then some may feel belittled by the people they ask help from, and they just get tired of asking and try other ways such as stealing . It's not right to steal but I can see why sometimes people say I tried to do it the right way but hell with it I'm hungry so I'm going to steal it. Somehow society looks down on people cause they have fallen on hard times and ask for help they look at them and say how dare you to ask me for help and that's just wrong. But so is stealing .
