I agree if they are wanting trained they should get the training they need to work the roads of Greenup County to help with the shortage of officers

Bobby Carpenter will do away with what he can not control. If the puppet master can not pull your strings you are gone. And if he can not get rid of you he will destroy you. He has many puppets standing in his shadow to assist him. He likes his hands to stay clean. He lets others do his dirty work.

I'm curious, what can a constable do other then serve papers? What is their authority? How do they get paid?

Our poor one horse town is a joke to anywhere else ,what a shame that we don't have sheriff sales of all the confiscated items to generate revenue income.Maybe somebody is hording alot of hot tickets like guns, jewelery, vehicles, farm equipment, furniture, computers, steros, cameras ect.Now wait a MINUTE nobody knows nothing about any thing!I guess the shortage of officers is the answer "WOW" thank god for community watch since manpower is a BIG issue.

Constables Shall possess the same qualification as the Sheriffs and ther jurisdiction shall be oc-extensive with the counties in which they reside.

Constables are fee's paid officer of the court. Constables are entitled to receive fee's for all citations they write and warrants/summonses/subpoenas they serve.

Bobby Carpenter, Mike Wilson, they def. have their puppets. Not just in Greenup. I have been trying to get people to help with the corruption. They don't want anyone outside to know what really happens in Greenup. Corrupt isn't the word.

Scary facts: Constables have the same arrest powers as any other KY police officers. KY constables DO NOT have to attend the training academy. Very few, if any have written polices or procedures in place or reviewed. Very few and none are mandated to attened any basic police training. Its not 1875 any longer. In the present day we DEMAND our police be professional and trained in firearms, driving, penal codes, community relations, treatment of the mental ill, and be able to fight a drugged up man without being brutal. You should question any man who would do this job for no pay or benifts. Constables are one screw up away from costing a county millions in a lawsuit.

And I suppose a State Trooper pulling guns on people on routine traffic stops is ok? Just how much training does a policeman have..ask Boyd county what the difference in them and a deputy they won't answer. More help is better than none!!!!!!!!!

the article is about constables wanting to be trained you might want to read it again. your right it's not 1875 that may be why they're wanting trained and i think constables are paid for writting citations, serving papers, and serving arrest warrents. i think that constables have are bonded you might want to do some research before posting comments.

i am a constable in greenup co and i have been a commonwealth detective and a deputy sheriff before moving to greenup and i do 80+ hours of inservice training each year and most counties do pay their constables and to tell the truth i thought greenup would be one of those counties but it's not and i promised the citizens that i would be there for them and i am a man of my word. and for nate i do have SOPs or as he stated written polices and procedures. and as for the screwup comment i am bonded. and i put my real name because i'm not afraid to let people know who i am.
