Does anybody not realize that Sheriff Greenwells comments are nothing more than political hogwash catering to a conservative base. Of course he will not enforce any law that goes against the constitution. Any law that goes against the Constitution is, well unconstitutional. In other words, illegal.

The problem is that the Sherriff does not get to determine if a law is constitutional or not. That is the job of the courts. He is expected to uphold the law. Let the courts decide what is constitutional.

However, I will say that it is a shrewd political move to pander to the uninformed masses that just want to be told what they want to hear.

He wrote a letter to the editor after receiving hundreds of calls and email. He was just trying to calm the locals. Someone called the media trying to start problems. That is the political move of someone else. I hardly think with an election over 20 months away, it was anything political. I support him.

Obama got elected by pandering to the uninformed masses. But I bet you dont have a problem with him.

What does this thread have to do with Obama. Quite frankly, I'm a little worried about your fixation with him.

This is about Greenwell and his kicking off his reelection campaign by making meaningless statements that people like you seem to adore.

No different than the town forums that Melanie is having that are obviously nothing more than a campaign kickoff on the counties dime.

Sheriffs are elected by the people not by the government. They are sworn to uphold the constitution. On the other hand so is obummer. He lied. He's on a mission to destroy our second amendment. That's supposedly ok? Good for our Sheriff for doing the right thing. If only the rest of the Government could follow their example.

As Ashley said, he was receiving a lot of emails and calls asking about his stance. So why not make a simple letter to the editor so some of those people will stop calling and let him go about running the office.

Don'w worry, in a few years Danny Thompson will be back wasting all my hard earned tax money on toys and gas guzzling pick up trucks and you can be happy.

As for me,I like 'ol Dave.Have for years.Honestly,I know beyond doubt that he's fair and as far as I've ever seen,,,he's a straight talker.Even when it would be a lot less complicated as well as fashionable to simply,,,embellish.Incidentall y,that's why I firmly agree that the letter to the editor was in fact not only the obvious choice,,,but the only choice.Indicates that his motives are honestly based, and he has little to hide,,,and shows to the entire town.Only wish he would've allowed me to correspond when it was being written.Perhaps we could have up-graded it to a press release,,,and received "absolute" positive review.Don't know.

Donnie is going to run again, he has switched to the Republican Ticket to run against David.

EVERYONE Knows that the ONLY reason David won is because he ran as a Republican and everyone hates the IDIOT who is our President.

Now, it will be MAN TO MAN... No Straight Tickets, the voters will have to choose who they want.

Oh and for those of you who say "Donnie's not a real Republican!"

Who cares? David was a Democrat before he started running and so was that FAT ASS County Attorney.

As Conservative values go, Donnie and Walt Sholar are alot more Conservative than this two nitwits.

Got it all figured out don't ya? Still ain't gonna unfold like you want it to though.A bit too lengthy to exlain,,,or I'd attempt it.However,I will tell you that that dumb-dumb party swapping stunt that you seem convinced is genius,,,will go over about as smoothly as when Ross Perot dropped out of the presidential race just long enough to dodge public scrutiny. His advisers was under the impression that such foolishness was an excellent idea as well. However, even Shepherdsville don't boast enough idiots for a plan like that like that to fly.Interested to see how it unfolds though. All that aside, what is it with the names,"deer hunter" and the "rifleman",,,you got a complex or somethin'??? In my opinion "sniper',or "gunnery seargant" or something like that seems to command a little more respect.Only a suggestion.

I heard Hatfield and Sherman are switching to Republicans also. Looks like they are still trying to deceive the people of this town.

One thing for certain,,,I wouldn't trust either one of those boys with a piggy bank that had more than forty-seven cents in it.And honestly,I don't believe that either of 'em would be credible organizers of a bingo game,,,never-mind running something of importance. In short, there's no doubt that those dishonorable villains (better words than my first choice)are still attempting to deceive the people of this town, but I can't help but notice the strength they display when looking the percentage of the people who "aren't" deceived,,,in the eye.Almost as if they feel vindicated or innocent or righteous or something. Not really sure whether you call that charm, strength, audacity, nerve, ,,or just flat out evil.I suppose I'll have to thumb through some Rifleman episodes and see how Lucas explained it to Mark,,,then I guess I'll know.

Actually,I suspected as much when I recently got re-acquainted with the show.Don't know if he was open or not,but I never picked up on it when I was young.I know I watched it faithfully when I was five, six, and seven it seems,,,but thought Lucas was the greatest back then though.I still like the show quite a bit,,,but I believe it's obvious that Chuck Conners was flamboyantly gay,,,and Lucas was actually a bit more straight laced than I cared for.Still attracted to the show for some reason though.

So all these crooked Democrats that got beat think they can fool the community by switching to republican and just win the race? What is going to be different than last time the Tinnells and Hatfield were in charge. I guess they can say they screwed the county with both parties. probably some kind of award for that.
