The governor needs to order the highway patrol to work with sheriff departments and patrol rural areas. They are the ones working with top of the line equipment while sheriff departments are working with second or third rate equipment.

The general public needs the police and fireman more than they need to have so many "bodies" in other city and county positions! If people really worked at work ... they could cut the number of employees in half!!! Playing on the internet, calling and getting calls the entire day from their kids, visiting with other employees and taking 2 hour lunches ... oh heck no!!! None of that constitutes "working" ... lol

This is very definitely a public safety issue. Any city that cuts fire service, EMS service or street cops is a city that is less safe. A city that cuts wages for these services must remember you get what you pay for and if you pay less, you discourage good job performance.
I don't know about you, but if I call for these professionals, it's because I am in utter and desperate need of their services, and I want them to be the very best they can be.
