The first thing that came to my mind when I read the details of this story were "Remember the tower of Babel..." and wow, is the Lord trying to send a message not only to that church - but to all of the churches in America? We best wake up and smell the the idols burning because time is running out!

That's what you get for putting up a 62' idol in your front yard, huh? What's next on God's agenda?

I saw Big Butter Jeebus once. That monstrosity should have never gone up in the first place.
What a stupid way to gain attention for your church.

Well it's about time jeebus felt the fires of hell that he has condemned so many to.
I laughed my ass off at the fact that the adult store across the street was untouched by the storm.
Who's in charge.....?

Good evening all :o) I jumped on here to post a link to this story. I should have known it would already be up. I find it interesting that with all the security they had to keep mischievous people out, they did not think to put in a lightning rod. Of course a 62’ idol of Jesus with a lightning rod sticking out of his head…… I simply can not understand how a church could spend $250,000.00 - $500,000.00 (depending on your source and figure’s do not include yearly upkeep) on a statue.

It really is mind-boggling that a church would spend its money in such a showy way. I guess helping their fellow human beings doesn't give them enough celebrity status.

How ya doin, NS?

Doing good here Water…how are you :o)? Sorry for the repeat as you have probably already read this from me but it is fitting for this thread as well……

If it is rebuilt….sigh, it will really say something about the church. I hope for their sake they do not find a way to “justify” a rebuild. A child for a $1.00 a day could be fed……700,000.00.……Self-promoti on or helping others????
