16-year-old William Wardrip of Encinitas died when he was thrown from an overturned vehicle.

A 16-year-old was driving an S.U.V. with 4 teenage passengers inside when he lost control on a curve of San Dieguito Road in Fairbanks Ranch at 3:30 Sunday morning.

Why in the world would this 16 year old be driving with other teens at 3:30 am?? Nice parents!!

I suppose you never did anything foolish as a 16 yr. old right?? They probably snuck out in the middle of the night......have some compassion for the family!!! Be careful what you say, it could be you someday!!!

Apparently they were out driving around tossing water balloons at things. I was told they managed to hit a cop car that then gave chase. Net result: serious tragedy. If the part about the sherrif chase is true, some serious review of strategy on the sherrif's department needs to be conducted

these are awesome parents who are devastated. Pleases feel compassion. this boy was an a very good football player and lacross player and excellent student,, no drugs no alcohol William was tired and went to fall asleep in the back. thus no seat belt they were on their way home. Bad choices. The young man driving should obviously be punished but does not deserve jail for a teen stupidity. The DA should not worry about public opinion but still set an example for other teens and inexperienced drivers...

William has wonderful parents!! They were acting like kids and made a bad decision. You should show some compassion before Karma bites you.
