Very sad that it took the family 20 minutes to notice a baby missing! People are so irresposnsible and neglectful and now we have another child taken because of a neglectful family. May that little boy Rest in PEACE!

no one knowes what happened including myself, but I do have enough sense not to make hurtful statements. Do you for one second think that the parents don't blame themselves or worse even one another. It is a very bad situation and all I want to add is that I will pray for healing dearest family

First off, not one of you know the details. The baby was not in the pool for 20 minutes. Everyone gets on here, scrutinizing people, when they do not even know the full details.

Desiree, where did you hear it was 20 minutes that he was missing? You are getting your information from someone that is twisting the story around. And we all know who that is.

I want to start off by telling all of you who are making nasty ignorant assumptions and comments to back the **** off! You don't know the story or what really happened. No one was drunk, he wasn't unsupervised, he wasn't missing for 20 minutes, and he was NOT a neglected child. He was loved and taken care of and the heart of this family and for those of you saying these horrible things goes to show what kind of people you are. FYI KIDS HAVE DROWNED IN POOLS THAT WERE COVERED WITH GATES AROUND THEM! This family is devastated and has gone through something i wish upon no one. No one wants to bury their son, nephew, brother, grandson...accidents happen all over the world and accidents are no one's fault. You *** holes need to direct your misinformed comments to people who are abusing their children and intentionally causing them harm. Not to a mother and father who want to die along with their 2 year old dead son...who do you people think you are. RIP my beloved nephew Jayden you'll forever be in our hearts.

sorry for your loss, but negligence is child abuse and that kid had no business hanging out in a pool unsupervised. and yes he was unsupervised because if he had been properly supervised this would never have happened. A very harsh lesson to the family.

Water Alarm 4 Pools

There are companies that make a water alarm for pools that goes off if there is any turbulence. One can get one on Ebay for $100.

Pool Alarm sits on pool deck

The Pool Alarm installation is very easy. It sits on the pool deck as shown in picture.

After you install the POOL ALARM, it can't be de-activated; it is always in the alarm ready mode until you put it in Sleep Mode.

If someone who does not know how to put the POOL ALARM in sleep mode attempts to remove the alarm, it will sound an alarm.

The Pool Alarm comes with a remote receiver which can be mounted in your home up to 200 feet from the main unit. It comes with a 12 volt power supply.

The Pool Alarm uses one a 9-volt battery which should last approximately one year.

There is a audible low battery indicator which will sound at the poolside alarm and the remote receiver.

Every year in the USA, 4,000 people die each year from drowning in swimming pools, 1,200 are children. A swimming pool alarm could have prevent some of them...

6 people die each day in the time it takes to answer a phone call. The Pool Protector Swimming Pool Alarm will alert you when your child, grandchild, pet, or intruder has fallen in your pool. Works with any swimming pool or spa, and will sound two loud alarms; one on the device and one on the base station. Sets up in minutes, uses 1 x 9V battery, and covers a 20 x 40 foot pool. Protect your loved ones with an inexpensive, and easy to use swimming pool alarm.

Maybe if they bought one of these instead of Bud Light and cigarettes, a son would be alive today?
Nice narrative about a very important piece of equipment for middle minds to have if they are going to have a "pool".

I feel so very sorry for the baby. No one watched out for him when they should have. How can you even let your child go into the backyard at 2 years of age without any supervision. Kids that age can get into all sorts of trouble and need to be watched. It was written that they found him in the water which pretty much means that they didn't see it happening which also means that they weren't there with him. So he was definitely unsupervised. How very sad. Some people just shouldn't have children if they don't want to be around them and take care of them. Write whatever you want but this is a tragedy that could have been avoided.
