Ex-jail employee jailed on rape charge

A Stilwell woman has been arrested on a complaint of second-degree rape of a former Department of Corrections inmate housed in Adair County Jail.

The name is familiar but I can't place her. I would like to think that maybe she was involved with the inmate prior to his incarceration. Otherwise, I can see how her actions are construed to be taking advantage of an inmate. I think charging her with rape is a bit harsh if the inmate was a willing participant. Who knows, perhaps the inmate was the one who initiated the relationship out of need for a sexual outlet and was actually taking advantage of her. Either way, at her age, you would think that she would know better.

the news article says that rape is ANY sexual contact between a DOC employee and inmate.

Im sure he did initiate it, but he is now pressing charges against the state when the investigation proves it happened.

For such a small town Stilwell definitely has it's share of dumb criminals. Rape seems to be a local favorite.

actually i think rape comes in fourth to child molesting, followed closly by goat blowing and the horrific brutality of cricket crushing.

You see rape is generally categorized as unwilling or forced sexual touching with a person above the legal age of consent (not a minor child), against their will or in a circumstance which impaires mental or physical focal ability.

Just an observation...if this were a 69 year old man having sex with a female inmate the posts on this forum would be totally differnt. I think "hang him" "throw the book at him" blah blah. I get so tired of the double standards. Whats wrong is wrong. If this is true and they liked each others company then she should have quit before they got involved or waited til he was sprung. And Stilwell is no more filthy than any other city or state in this nation. There are creeps, liars, murderers, child molesters, rapists everywhere. Turn on the news sometime.

First of all, i think it's pretty obvious the guy did get "Sprung" or whatever word you would like to use for it.

Second, you're right, there are rapists, murderers etc all across the world, every little craphole town and big city, however, generally the city doesnt allow them to stand centerstage and proclaim to all, "there is no shame in raping a child, murdering someone who has wronged you or beating on your wife."

Not that it's right. Just pointing it out. We live in a world today where the only criminals that actually PAY for their crimes are ones against animals, and sometimes a "money" crime like "Madoff" and the only reason he paid for his crime is he didn't rip off a bunch of nobody's he ripped off the likes of Steven Speilberg. Im positive this was a two party deal, both were in consent. But as the law reads, it is still rape. And im sure the accuser is wanting cash from a lawsuit.

there is no law suit and the male subject did not press charges DOC is the one pressing charges the male subject is actually very much in love with this woman and has planed to spend the rest of his life with her and she is not the only woman at that jail who has slept with a doc inmate but the others were just fired and sent on there way to draw unemployment its not much of a story if the woman is in her 20s. Austin has vowed to stand behind his employees when in reality all he is doing is setting them up for failure and destroying there lives. I have several friends who work there and their stories are all the same. Austin doesnt want to help anyone he is getting pleasure out of fu**ing with peoples lives.
