Excramento (Sac)sucks, every man is a A-hole and women are hateful. I've lived here for almost 2 years and I can't get a decent haircut for love or money! Someone tell me where i can get a decent haircut- look on the street at other guys- they all have crappy haircuts. When I first moved here, I used to walk downtown and I'd get called names and frowned at by strangers, this has never happenned to me before in my life of 38 years, I've lived in Seattle (much bigger city) and people were so much nicer. Thats the problen with Excramento, No one here wants to be here, and they make everyone else as miserable as thenselves. I got to admit, it has changed me too, and I cant stand it anymore- me and my wife are moving soon, and I'd rather live in Barrow Alaska than live here! This place is cursed and forsaken, and everyone here is a miserable, dirty loser. Thats another thing, no one takes a shower and washes thier hair, almost everyone is kinda dirty. Whenever I eat at a restaurant I get the runs because no one washes their hands after they use the toilet! Dirty, stinky miserable people! Cant wait to leave.

No, dont move to Sacramento! I call it Excramento because thats really what it is. This place is where all the sub-standard goods and clothing is sent, for people to buy at Target and Safeway. Go ahead buy some fruit at Safeway- see how long it takes until it molds up on you, buy a TV from Target on Broadway, see if it works for ya, or are you going to settle because it was cheap. Go eat somewhere like oh- that pizza place on J and 38th street, see if you get the runs from the dirty people who work the dough- no one ever washes their hands. Try to smile and say something nice to some one on the street, they'll frown at you, thinking you are about to beg for money. This is what I've learned about Sacramento: some places on this earth are further away from, and some places are closer to hell. Sacramento is warmed by the fires of hell just below the surface, and everyone here is changed by this fact. Spend any time here and you will be changed and corrupted, suddenly you will look in the mirror and see a lined and beaten face you hardly recognize, you will know then that you must leave soon or you will become one of the other frowning, vacant, stupid people that scowl and mutter at others, sharing and resonating the awful howl that seeps through the crusty scab that is this town.

See? And here I thought it was people like yourself that have moved here that have caused this once awesome place to live to become the way you've described it. Go back from whence you came and take the others with you. Then perhaps we can have our valley home back and not have to deal with personalities such as yours. Bu-BYE!

Seriously GOD? If you don't like it, leave. Based on your character that shines through in your posts, its not likely you'll be missed... by anyone. I've lived here for 32 years, met my wife, recently bought a house in Midtown, and enjoy all this city has to offer. Take your negativity back to the rainy state.

Ok, fair enough. Ive been thinking about your answers and they were justified. But I was very different 2 years ago, came here with dreams and stars in my eyes, and it was beaten out of me. Perhaps some don't care, and think if I leave and all the other unhappy people with me this city would be back to the awesome place it was, maybe so. But before you conclude that it is all my problem, you should have met the positive, excited person I was when I first moved here. I am angry, bitter, and negative because of my experience here, because of how I have been treated from day-one after moving. And I still smile and say hi to stangers on the street, and do good things for strangers. The hostility you have expressed in your posts is the same hostility that has ruined my experience here, and is part of Sacramento's zeitgeist, and it will not leave with me.

And yes, I was God, but maybe naming myself that just brought more hostility?

You're right. We all hate you, it IS personal, and you should leave as soon as possible to go back where everyone holds hands in the sunshine. By all means, don't let us drag your bright, cheery mood down; leave us to stew in our negativity.

while i agree in principle with god/lamb, i don't want to hold onto my negative hatred for sacramento. i honestly really don't.
i know i sound like a bitter ass in my post, but that is mostly venting. i have yet to have one good experience in this city. it is eroding my soul.
i came here because my parents moved here a few years back and my mother got sick. i wanted to be close to help take care of her.
my prjudgement of sac was not good. where i am from, we use sacramento as a joke when we make references to how things could be worse. i did have an open mind when i moved here, but have been disappointed over and over.
so i ask for help. tell me what is good about this town. help me see the positive as opposed to the negative. i can't give up on it yet, but at the same time i can't help but think it is the most horrible place i have ever been. and i have been many many places.

Sacramento is home of the Big Wheels militia and most of the country's meth factories. Greasy mullet riders and momas with hairy pits patrol the streets and avenues. It is where the Wal-Mart raiders and child molesters live in caves and crawl out from under rocks. It is where the religious charlatans hawk their lies and soften their bellies. Every man has a tiny Hitler mustache and a fat head. Every woman has chubby cheeks and big hair with gravity defying bangs. And all the faces are pockmarked with acne scars. Everybody chews gum or tabacco or nibbles on sunflower seeds. Used car salesman and their pot dealing children pile into their RV's every weekend and drive to Folsom Lake to eat fried food and try to kill themselves on their jet skis. Sacramento is right next door to Hell. The stench in the city is Satan's fowl breath and farts blowing in the wind.

With exception to South Sac and your newly elected Mayor, I have great apprecation for Sacramento. Being a student at Sac State, a patron of the arts, and an admirer of Midtown - I could certainly see Sacramento becoming my home, someday. People who disagree may want to live elsewhere before critiquing; it's not as bad ass you suggest.

Indeed. Once upon a more benign time, Sacramento did not suck-or so I'm told by the lifers here...the mass influx of refugees from WORSE places (like So Cal and the Bay Area) have trully done the damage. You talk to refugees from Suckatomato (or CA per se) in Oregon, Washington, Neveda, Etc... and They are MUCH happier there. Lots less crowding and foriegners... However, these people have ruined the quality of life for the locals FOREVER-WHEREVER they have gone. Might as well stay here and make the best of it...

I am in Seattle now and I am so glad I moved out of Sacramento.
Sacramento was the most uncultured, Wal Mart-ish White Trash city I have ever seen. Too much crime, too much meth, and nothing to do....lets not forget all the foreclosures.

Sac is not for everyone. I was open minded coming here and am pretty dissappointed. I've met a few cool people, but the overall culture throws me for a loop. The pace is much slower, the guys are arrogant and I can sense racism from them and have a know it all hillbilly attitude. The women are friendly, good looking, but they get married when they are 20 and have 3 kids by the time they are 25. It's tough to find other educated people that know how to socialize.

Hate shows right throug your words, get a life! Is not the place that makes you happy, it is what is inside of you. Re-examine your life.

You who call Sacramento white trash and racist - what region of of the city are you referring to? Let me guess - somewhere outside of Sacramento. Sac is completely non-white and non-racist. Time Magazine voted it the most integrated city in the US. If you're sad and dumb, don't blame it on the fact that you're living in Roseville. Blame it on yourself.

He is right. Exremento is riddled with White Trash, scum, rednecks, minoroities. All of the rubbish of the earth seems to accumulate here. Everyone I have encountered from Exremento is a total scumbag. People are unsophisticated and will never know the meaning of class! I hate Sacramento and the rejects that live there. Do the rest of the world a favor, you degenerate residents of Exremento, get drunk, and choke on your own vomit!

GPA of 2.0 and a score of 700 on the SAT!! Great accomplishment, Mr. White Trash!! Go shave off your mullet and smoke a few doobs.
