A batch of water-contaminated gasoline stalled dozens of cars on New Jersey roads.
“The gas is always sucked from the bottom, so if you put water in the tank, all you will do is pump water”
A gasoline distributor said Friday that a batch of water-contaminated gasoline that stalled dozens of cars on New Jersey roads was delivered to 10 service stations in the Garden State. via WPVI-TV Philadelphia

Getty stations should have been ok. Only Lukoil and Wawa stations got the supply of contaminated gas. You might have some other problem.

Anyone else have problems after filling up with gas on Monday 5/12 or Tuesday 5/13 at Sunoco gas station in Cranford, NJ just off of the Garden State Parkway exit 137? My car would not start after I filled up at this station. They told me they had water in their gas. I'm trying to find someone else out there that it happened to.

My friend got gas at Lukoil on Admiral Wilson Boulevard in Camden on Tuesday May 27, 2008a nd hist car stalled immediately afterwards. He refuses to think it could be the gas but he never had a problem up until yesterday. Anyone know of anyone else?

I think this is a good cause for lawsuits. Can this ruin people's car?

I just found out I got contaminated gas sometime in May. I went to the shell Station right before the entrance to the Parkway exit 137 for the first three weeks in May and the Sunoco right after the 137 exit for the parkway last Monday the 27th of May. The car did not break down until today and I had it towed to Autoland Toyota who says contaminated gas caused the problem.

I've been getting gas from Enrite in Clifton and my car has been stalling only after I hit the breaks, then I'm able to start it up again. I spent about $1000 during its scheduled maintenance with no specific diagnosis for the stalling (mechanic said he changed a bunch of stuff like spark plugs, etc.) My husband used the car to try and replicate, but perhaps because he uses a different gas station, it never stalled with him. Then now it's back with me, I went to Enrite again twice, then the stalling started again. Fortunately I can still start the car but I'm never going back to Enrite.

Did anyone have problems with the car after pumping gas from the Sonoco gas station at Bustletton and Loney in NE, Philadelphia?
