Paterson landlord gets 18 months probation in fatal fire

"This was a lengthy process. The circumstances are sad and complicated," said Senior Assistant Passaic County Prosecutor Paul De Groot, who said Florence Brown's case should send a message to landlords that they will be held criminally responsible when violations lead to death or injury.
