The ACPD gets a new super and there is a major increase in assaults against its personnel. What new policies has the new boss instituted that leads the officers to escalate situations into violent altercations?

It would appear to me that its not the cops that are more violent, its some of the low life scum that they deal with day in and day out. Our cops are out protecting us and all you can do is second guess a person that seconds to make a decision when a guy has beaten an women almost to death and most likely would have done the same to the officer.

What are you thinking!!!!!!!!!!

Cops are too frightened these days to use non-lethal tactics that they are trained with. Shoot first and cover up later!

kudos ACPD. Sounds like this jewel thought he was above the law and nothing would be done to him. Guess he won't be showing up for his court appearance tomorrow for assaulting officers recently. These officers are trained to make split second decisions and that he did. Good job.

I'd really like to see Bubba handle some of the situations these officers handle day after day. This guy was bad news and would appear that he thought he was going to beat the officer they way he beat his girlfriend.

This is so sad. No one will ever know the Whole truth and details. So now they are saying Greg was running toward the Officer. Right? Does that entertain deadly force? I wouldn't think so. Stun Gun? Why was that not used? OK, so... if the Officer felt that threatened why didn't he shoot his leg out? Disable him and NOT kill him. I did not know Greg but I do know just about ALL his family and they have been through so much and now have to burry a son, Grandson, brother, cousin, uncle, dad or what ever relation he was and at only 21 years old. Yes. He made a bad choice but he is not the only one that has made the same mistake but he paid the price No One should have to. If he would of had a weapon od firing upon the Officer then maybe I could see this a little clearer. One of the commandments are, Do Not Kill.
Sounds like the Police force need larger Officers, less scared and intimidated ones and ones that Care for Human Life.
No, I am NOT running down officers as I would NOT have their job but They made that choice to serve and PROTECT. Hum, Protect, NOT Kill. And I am sorry, don't give me the police has to deal with that the rest of his like either because if he would have cared, he would NOT have made such a drastic choice so quickly. Prayers to the Family of Greg and also for the shooter that he will be perfectly honest in any interview and not shade or change anything. Not saying he will or would but to cover self, flesh is wear. God Bless everyone

Repeat Fellon's should be in prison, not beating up his so called Girl Friend that he huhgnnmm LOVED. If I was that police officer, and knew that in the past dude grabbed a fellow officers taser, then what's next? Nobody knows Greg's intensions that night, but whatever they were couldn't have been good. Grabbing the responding police officers firearm and doing damage? Not on my watch! It would be the other way around this time.

The officer WAS protecting someone. He was protecting the woman Mr. Rosson supposedly loved, as he beat the crap out of her.

Was the police officer supposed to have engaged in hand to hand combat under the assumption that Mr. Rosson wasn't armed or had a weapon? Was the police officer supposed to have guessed what the charging
Mr. Rosson was going to do?
Looks like Mr. Rosson never had a chance to read " How to Avoid Getting Shot by a Police Officer For Dummies".

One more thing I might add. In my on hand training for my CCW permit you are taught a few things. One of which would be if someone is charging at you, they mean harm. It's time to pull weapon. If the attacker keeps walking/running toward you after telling them to "stop I am armed" or something along that line and are within 20 Feet then its time to shoot. This is for your own protection. If someone still wants to run toward a pointed gun knowing they could die, then they are dumb as a box of rocks. Some people find out the hard way.

If you don't like the way the police work then maybe you should become an office. Leave you family everyday to go out and protect someone you don't even know. I love the way everyone wants to give their opinion on how bad the police are. These officers leave their families and put their life on the line everyday it could have been the officer who was dead and not the man who was beating the crap out of his girlfriend. I don't understand how anyone can say how great this guy was when his girlfriend is black and blue. How can you take up for someone who beats a woman. I just don't understand your thinking. Someone robs a store and gets shot or killed and the police were wrong because he shot the person who was breaking the law. When will it be the person breaking the laws fault and not the one trying to protect us.

Now lets put things into perspective here. Police officers carry a fire arm to defend themselves. Contrary to Hollywood it is not there just to shoot bad guys. Police officers live daily with a threat of being in a position of being attacked and they train for this both mentally and physically.

Now put yourself in a situation of confronting a person currently beating on another individual with intent to harm [at 2 am as well]. They then run at you and you have to decide if you want to live, be beaten or even die? Yes this [your comment] may be the outcome of the findings but we were not there.

Keep in mind that these officers also may have loved ones to include children that they want to see the next day. I truly hope they have decided there actions long before they take the oath for their own safety.
