This should have been expected and dealt with before it happened, especially since the county has allowed unfettered development in that neighborhood and has most certainly studied the traffic and pedestrian patterns.
Here is my 10 second traffic study
-high speed
-lots of traffic
-no crosswalks
-no stoplights
Dangerous for drivers entering or exiting putt putt place, way worse for pedestrians.

Turning vehicles--even if they have a green light-- must yield to pedestrians. How many more people will be killed or injured because so many drivers are ignorant of this?

Frankly I think its a heck of alot easier, and smarter for the pedestrian to make darn sure the driver sees them. Drivers are watching for other vehicles etc... and for pedestrians but pedestrians make it really hard on drivers. Damn sure easier for a person to halt than a vehicle. I'm very very sorry the lady passed, and not saying she did anything wrong, but just tired of hearing how drivers are so irresponsible and at fault

I agree, and I try to make sure it's clear before I walk across the intersection, because you never know whether the car sees you or not. I feel sorry for this woman, she was 75 yrs old - maybe she was already walking (slowly) across the street before the car arrived.
