Another person wanting to turn Fluvanna into a suburb. I have lived in Fluvanna my whole life and I cant tell you that a four lane road is not coming any time soon. Too many people will fight it and the historical society will not allow it, not matter what VDOT says. Infact that is why 53 is the way it is at Monticello; because of it being historical. I have said this in all my other posts and people just need to learn to drive and stop letting things distract them.

Why not widen the roads a little, and add some additional safety features? As things are, many of our rural roads leave no room for driver error.

Is there any word on the condition of the people involved in the accident?

I keep looking for an update from August 2nd, but no word. Isn't the location a tad off? The Rt. 6 in Faber is not near Rt. 151 (there are 2 route 6's).

Move back up north where the roads are wider is the best advice I have for you. I am not advocating deaths on our roadways and infact I have worked a lot of deaths on Fluvannas roadways and not one of them was the roads fault. Infact I would be willing to say that 99% of fatalities are due to human error, not the roads. Spend more time and money on driver education, prevention, and enforcing the laws will overall prevent more accidents than widening a road or any other road improvements. Infact, a lot of people wanted the new light at Zions Crossroads and they got it. Guess what happened? We had more accidents and several fatalies there in a few months. How did the road improvements help? If everyone came to a complete stop then they would have been avoided.

There are many times that as I myself drive down Rt. 15 that a few cars seem to drift in my lane, and then they correct themselves. Then a they drie past you can see their elbow bent with thier hand put to their ear, with a cell phone in it. Is there such a thing as driving overly cautious? Another thing I noticed is that even though I drie the speed limit, many people seem to get aggitated and have even crossed double lines to pass me, and to have passed me they must be speeding, because I'm driving the designated speed limit. We a drivers are becoming careless, in a rush, or just plain nonobservant. I'd rather get somewhere alive, than drive stupidly and not only put my life at risk but those who are driving around me.
