Banker
Insurance agents
London mayor
Homemaker [A phelps]and a yes person

I can envision them already eyeing some good property to steal....oh I mean condemn for the good of us all....yea sure.

What a joke, same ole, same ole for London/Laurel County

The commission will be made up of five members: Holbert Hodges, a banker; Steve Berry, an insurance agent; Rocky Binder, also an insurance agent; Shelia Whittenback, homemaker; and Robin Williams, a real estate agent. London Mayor Troy Rudder said letters of notification were sent to those selected on Wednesday.

Is this only for the city? Does this mean all of Laurel County? I have a condemned house close to me and they have no intentions of doing anything with it!

Yep, know what's going to happen already. People will have to go before the committee to fight to keep their property. The property owner will loose of course. It will be for the good of us all,and oh yea, it will be for the children.

London makes me sick.

Yeah, sounds pretty dirty. Whitley co. is dirty too though. That's why the ex prosecuting attn. is a millionaire with thousands of acres he took from ppl.

But is this just for the city? Or does this apply for the county too?

I have no complaints about this. It's good for our community. And get real "On2U", no one will be stealing land. How childish....

I bet the ones complaining about this are the ones that don't mow their lawns and such. I can't stand lazy people. Keep your lawns nice people, have some pride.

I don't have to leave and I keep my lawn very nice , thank you. You are the typical do gooder until they find fault with your property. Just wait and see Soupy, then you will be crying. Remember what I have said, cause it will happen.

Here we go again, I know some property owners should keep their property mowed, but I bet something bad will come out of this. I just don't trust city government.

Who/what are you talking about? I don't know of any ex prosecuting attorney who has thousands of acres he took from anyone.

I wish they would do this for all of the county.we have one place that is awful. They burned one double wide and torn down half of one and left the rest behind. I put up a privacy fence just like other people did so I do not see it while I am spending time outside. The sad thing is that some lawyer owns it and refuses to clean it up. I can understand if you are to old to do something about it but when you have the resources to do the clean up you should.

it's so obvious that they're meeting for themselves, and discuss where to close in on the next deal. We'll never know will we.

How does one apply for a position on one of these boards of community responsibility? I never saw this posted in any of the local papers. Since I know all of these people personally, I know they all know each other and some are closely related and/or connected to city government. Is this really the way to do business in our city today?

Is is possible in today's world to find a city government that would act for the people of that city? How about designing a zoning system that would prohibit certain things in certain areas, like trailer parks near residential areas. And, if those trailer parks are built in the city limits, why not have restrictions on the upkeep within the trailer parks? Also, the zoning restrictions between commercial and residential properties.....should be more defined. There are many cities in this country that have a planning system that London should really take a look at. It would provide a nice guide in planning our future areas. Everyone wants to live where they feel comfortable, happy and safe.
