retirement. He was a condescending and most pious judge. Anyone who had the displeasure of having a case heard before his court will surely attest to that. Having grown up in Exeter my entire life I can say that I have had more than a few run ins with his particularly distasteful brand of justice. Although he was constantly leaving the courthouse to go on lunches with the prosecutors and local police, he also was in the business of handing out exceedingly large fines used to line the pockets of our local government. On any given day you could sit in his court and watch him "hear" 20 cases in an hour, while he played on his laptop and paid no attention to the facts of the case. Sure enough when the case was laid to rest he would take the recommendation of the prosecutor (at the time it was Karen Springer) and hand out the fine she felt was appropriate.$600,$750,$1500,$2 000.... all day long. Is this what our justice system has become? There was no shame in the way this man would take from the Exeter residents. The only reason we should celebrate his retirement is because he is gone. I have a feeling that most of our local Judges handle themselves in this way however Judge Cullen was the only one I can say for sure behaved in a less than honorable way.

All of the quotes in this article are from people who stand to gain from greasing the wheels of our corrupt little NH town.
