A good sheriff would see that both dog and handler were sent for training. He would find the funds. Maybe he should give up one of those 6or 7 vacations he takes every year. When election time rolls around, ask questions of your candidates and make sure they follow thru with what they say they are going to do. Anyone can talk the talk. I do know that Gary followed thru on many leads with his dog and didnt mind stepping on toes. ouch!! I thought Basco was a drug dog not a search and rescue dog anyway.

Scotty told me, a while back, that this would be his last term. I highly doubt that he fired him because he was running for sheriff. The part about the money I don't know but I will say that it would be ludicrous to invest a large amount of money into having a police dog and not keeping it trained. I'm pretty sure that Scotty is level headed enough to realize that.

Gary kinder is a simple honest man, for the current sheriff, he better watch out for the next election, let's see how many votes ole Scottie can get, haha, getting fired over a dog, that sounds like a someone is scare,

Why does Fleming Co need a damn dog? Them vet bills are high. I wanted a dog when I was a kid and my dad said no and that was it. If Scotty wants a dog he should have to buy his own and the food and vet bills and to get it fixed and stuff.

I have known Scotty my whole life. I do know that Scotty is a pretty easy going man. The issue I see, and was told, was that the young man refused to work the dog. The dog fell out of operation and was simply a pet. Scotty tried to correct the problem and the young man pretty much ran off at the mouth. You don't do that to your boss. Aparently the young man don't value the citizens of Fleming County when he runs down his boss and refuses to correct the problem. He won't get my vote.

Scotty is a good person, I'm sure his version is different that what has been mucked up on here. Ain't no one here can't say that if asked Scotty wouldn't bend over backwards to help you. Sometimes as a boss you have to make tough dicisions, that's what we expect them to do.

The story and facts I posted about what happened is what happened!!People can believe what they want and are going to have their own opinions but the truth is the truth.I never had a problem at all with Scotty but I do think its wrong that he fired Gary over the dog and nothing else.Just ask him and see if he ever sent them back for their yearly training that was recomended.Like I said ,,,it was the sheriffs office responsibility to see to that,,not Garys!!People are going to ask what happened and want the truth and of course it was posted on here so everyone deserves the truth. And yes Scotty is going to rerun even though he had said before he wasnt until Gary said he was.I just know that Gary and the dog got a rotten deal!!

FYI a police canine must be trained weekly. On shift he must run either a track or look for narcotics daily to keep him sharp. You're not doing any good training a dog once a year. Good grief your naive.

As far as I know....Gary doesnt even have a clue that anything has been put on topix about what happened. He could care less whats posted on here because he knows he did his job and so did Boscoe!!!The dog im sure needed his yearly training and Gary even said he did and thats why he brought it up to scotty every year and heard the same thing!!No money and couldnt let Gary leave for that long,,,not enought help!!Well he should have thought about that before he hired a K9 officer and brought a dog in here.
