Almost everthing councilmemberholmes says is correct except one thing..he should have said biodiesel instead of ethanol.

Ethanol is a loser. Maybe in Brazil where you still have slave labor. Sugar can will never come back to Hawaii...no land or water or cheap labor. And, as far as food prices going up ask mexicans how much corn costs now, because there's more money to be made feeding our cars.
