So, what's the verdict? I was on Molokai last year....The ranch looked like a ghost town in South Africa.

I didn't quite understand the signs "keep hawaii hawaiian" or whatever it said. That seemed pretty racists. I couldn't imagine someone saying "Keep Maine white".

I found people to be friendly on Molokai, but I don't live there so I don't know how things really are

Joe,

When I drove around the west end it looked like something out of the Twilight Zone... A bunch of roads that dead end or have nothing on them. Nature is slowly reclaiming the roads out there.

The only person I ran into was a young dope dealer who was making out with his girlfriend outside of his dual wheeled monster truck at some state or county park.

Maunaloa had a kite shop, a convenience store and that was about it.

Hyena,

It's forum was 23 pages of a soapbox. Everyone was curious to see how things would turn out. Passion name-calling was in full force.

It's been 5 years so what do people think the verdict is on the Ranch? It reminded me of some of the ghost towns out in places like Mineral County, Nevada.

Wait until some Chinese or Korean guy brings in the bulldozers. It will be welfare housing from shore to shore, just like Makaha.
