A community meeting will be held in the Maple Valley area on Monday, September 24 to examine concerns about human health related to the emissions of large-scale compost facilities. The meeting is part of a Public Participation Grant from the Department of Ecology to gather data to address local citizen odor and emissions concerns about Cedar Grove Composting and other large facilities.
The grant is managed by the Institute of Neurotoxicology and Neurological Disorders (INND), a non-profit organization focused on research and education on toxic chemicals. The organization has created a website, FactsonComposting.org , to centralize and share relevant information and gather community input.
Time: Monday, September 24, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Place: Maple Hills Elementary, 15644 204th Ave. SE, Renton, WA 98059

I wish I'd been aware of this meeting before it took place in September. I would have loved to have been given the chance to voice my opinion on the noise emitting from the Cedar Grove plant.
