No and it appears that Worcester is the only place so far that may actually build the State's only slot parlor.

NO! This area is waaaaay tooo congested as is it. A multi million dollar big dig project couldnt help that 99 area!!! This location and immediate surrounding locations cant handle the traffic, it can't even handle the geese crossing near target ... it takes 3hrs for the traffic to get back on track. I do not have confidence a few highway projects will help the situation....and furthermore I can't see people coming to Everett for a getaway - lol.

Yes absolutely. If we don't do it. The city beside us will and we will still have the traffic but not get any benefits from it. Taxes will go down, jobs will be created and no it won't bring anymore crime than we already have.....but we will have a larger police force and new streets and the list goes on. The citizens of Everett are crazy if we don't vote this in. Our property value will also go up and we all know its been dropping each year.

No

Do some research -- Atlantic City Las Vegas.. Home values dropped. Crime went up. Traffice increased.

Have you ever walked behind the casinos in Atlantic City. It is a depressed area where once a good area thrived.

Jobs are min wage, increased traffice, auto insurance up, taxes will stay due to increased police force , fire department increased etc etc etc.

Just one correction to your Atlantic comment----the area was and still is low class. The casino did not create the poverty the was there and did not have a signifact impact either way.

The idiots that are against this project the same people that vote for Wayne and Hanlon, they lock their doors and close their shades when the street lights come on. Check your facts, Wynn is adored as a huge community supporter wherever he builds. But hey lets keep living in the 1970's pipe dream that Everett will come back on our own.. This city has been the laughing stock of greater Boston for decades, how else did we end up with no T station, no hotels, few restraunts, no political pull on Beacon Hill and an over abundance of sober houses and section 8 migration ? Wake up simpletons..

It won't bring more traffic, it will fix the mess that whole area is currently, it WILL bring much needed revenue to the city in taxes, will bring jobs, give some small businesses space to open in a high profile setting, people that are complaining about the crime rate it may bring, is not thinking, the area it will be in has never been Mr Rogers neighborhood anyway, we are being given a huge chance to make our city very financially secure, more revenue means more police, fire fighters, stop complaining and look what it can do for the city,

People who say no no, no more crime for Everett ask yourself a question have you walked around in Everett lately last walk I went on there was a pool of blood on Chelsea st!!! This casino could never make things worse cause it can't get any worse I walked these streets every day as a kid and its changed!! This will do nothing but benefit the city more police more tax dollars more people more money fit small business. If it goes .5 of a mil away at Suffolk downs you think the crime isn't gonna come here get real people if your gonna have it that close might as well be in Everett so we can see the tax benefit
Ya right

It wont bring more traffic. Are you delusional? How do you think the cars and buses are going to get there?Hovercraft maybe.Even if there is a ramp built off 93(which the mayor of Somerville said is not going thru his city)they are still coming from the parkway,Main street and Broadway.

At one time wasn't Somerville's mayor and Everett's mayor friends ???

Somerville's mayor is smart to voice his opinion about an exit off 93 going through Somerville. Wouldn't that exit have to pass all the red tape from the federal gvt as it is an interstate highway ??? This would years to get passed I would imagine...(think Alford St. bridge)....

The idea is just simply bad, why would we want something like this in our town. This is not a steve wynn bashing but in fact the people who we elected. there was rumors that carlo was going to try to get on the gambling commison for the state. you know if this happens first thing he is going to do is pack up an move out of Everett. leaving a legacy of heartbreak and crime that follows a casino

I've been here over 60years.I think the casino may be a good thing. My problem is that I haven't heard a word about what they will do about traffic. They say there will be improvements, but what. The ramp from 93 will never be built.I also don't think that they have any intention of putting a casino there.

If Everett don't do it, the next city over will and then we will get there traffic with no benefits. Home values will go up (look t where other casinos are). Taxes will go down. Jobs will be created and yes that means more police. This will make the city more desirable looking and no not for the criminals they are already here. Gangs are out of control and the drugs ate everywhere. This is an improvement for the city wake up people. The city needs something other than old abandoned buildings and convient stores. I don't gamble at all but I have looked into other casinos and crime rates in those areas and guess what it's much better than what we have now. Everett looks like a slum. I Will definitely be a giant YES on this.

Malden is the next city over from Everett and if the casino is not built in Everett, it is not going to build built in Malden either despite popular belief I think the casino idea in Taunton is a better idea and so is Milford except that Foxwoods wants to build there and Foxwoods is a bad choice because of its already billions in debt and poor management of its current casinos in CT and PA. Its too bad they never did anything with Wonderland. I think that would have been an ideal locale for a slot parlor. In its current state, its too small and would need to expand. Public transportation is already there, state police are close by and there's a decent scenery with the Atlantic Ocean in the background. Wynn's casinos are gorgeous and he manages his casinos really well but I don't think that it will do anything for Everett in the long run.
