Channel 5 reported two fire hydrants were not working on Bow Street and the building had an illegal apartment.

channel 5 said the water dept is in charge of maintenance, doesn't that fall under Zaniboni. He should get fired for that, people could have lost their lives. Shame on the Mayor and city services for not being on top of that. PEOPLE COULD HAVE DIED

City Services is definitely in charge of the Fire hydrants. Brian is too busy spying on the workers to make sure everything in the city is operational. If he put as much effort into his job as he does trying to "catch" people, the streets would be cleaner, the pot holes would be filled anf the hydrants would all work

They took that job out of the fire dept hands years ago. It is the water dept job now and has been for years

If thats the case it should go back to the fire department.someone should see that they are flushed out before there is a loss of life.would like to know when they were flushed out.

Are you kidding me? Years ago you would complain that the fire dept was out of the firehouses flushing the hydrants and could be out of firehouses when there was an emergency.... Now that its the maintiance depts. responsiblity, and they messed up you all want to place the blame back on the fire dept. Why the Hell doesn't Zaniboni get off his ASS and go around with a couple of guys and check them himself. THere is no need for him to go to lunch everyday with the Mayor...... One Last Question if the City of Boston can check all 13,000+ why can't the City of Everett check the amount we have in 3x3 square mile radius????????

If true, two fire hydrants not working on Bow St. is alarming !!! We take our safety for granted but guess we should not. Our street has only one fire hydrant ... if that doesn't work and we have a fire in the area, we are in deep do-do ....

All fire hydrants in the city should be checked now...before there is another fire.

Was it a joke they needed to get interpreters to evacuate residents?? If fire is in your dwelling, don't you know to get out and quickly ??? Would seem just common sense would dictate that... Oh yea, most don't have common sense...another reason perhaps to learn ENGLISH ....
