Nicky Mackay (may he rest in peace)is his name, he was 28-29 years old... I am disturbed that i have not seen it anything on the news about this... I don't understand how not one news station has picked this story up. I hope they get the man who did this, unbelievable.

Doesn't matter what his demons were! Like posted earlier-we all have them. Don't be a jerk! Let him RIP. When listening to the scanner, it didn't seem they didn't knew each other, saying a prayer. For his family and daughter.

"If my friends knew who u were it wouldn't be a pretty scene..."

Isn't this part of the problem? Look, I feel really, really bad for this man, his family and friends. Such a senseless crime. So many of us want to stop you all from hurting like this by preventing violence in the first place. But language like the above, threats etc. are why people are getting killed. Threats are made, violent incidents occur and then the next person ups the anty in the revenge game until someone gets killed.

Even going to someone's house and just verbally lashing them for what they wrote on a message board is completely inappropriate. And that is what is implied (at the minimum) in "knew where u are". And perhaps it implies physical violence as well??? Why do people feel they have to take things so far? I know you all are hurting, but it doesn't justify threats.

Please, you need to learn new ways to express yourself. By all means, tell Jim he's an idiot, read him the riot act about why he sucks, but don't threaten anybody. And it should end there... no need for more... These kind of threats just keep the cycle going and keep people losing loved ones and feeling like you all feel right now.

Honestly there is a large group of youth around here that needs conflict negotiation skills instead of screw drivers and threats. What has gone so terribly wrong that so many people are so lost?

This is very disturbing. One murder in the city is one to many but we have had far too many this last year alone. Someone needs to take the bull by the horns and start doing something.

First off, these crimes NEED to be reported, and they are not. Reporting crimes like homicides and bank robberies help in catching the perpetrator. In this case, and others, the murders are running around the city and no one knows about it. Maybe we need to stop these “open all night” establishments. Is there any reason why a barber has to be open 24/7?

We get reverse 911 calls all the time to watch a movie for “Mayor DeMaria movie night” and all stupid stuff that has no relevance to what reverse 911 was designed for. One of these times the perpetrator is going to either take a hostage or break into some unsuspecting home because they had no idea a nut is on the loose. It really bothers me when the mayor takes offence to anyone that tries to do something about crime... and him, the chief, and some elected officials go on TV saying everything is wonderful in the city is BS….because it’s NOT. Their nonchalant attitude really concerns me. There’s a major problem with crime in Everett and they better wake up.

No one deserves to be killed and in such a terrible way. I pray he goes right to God and lives in peace with him.

such a shame..the violence does need to stop though, take a look around in the surrounding communities, malden has had alot of shooting and 3 murders to my knowledge, chelsea is chelsea, with 6/7 murders this year, and everett the city i live in, so i know more about what goes on: has had atleast 4 shootings and 5 stabbings that were NOT life threatening.. and to my knowledge 5 murders. Violence is all around the surrounding communities, enough is enough!!

If you search his name on any web engine it shows that he was arrested for burglary on October 3rd and it also states he was homeless. Please stop with the "demons" defense. If he wasnt in a fight he wouldnt have died.

Can we stop pretending the people who poison our city are victims just because they die? Do something with your life and you wont be in those situations. Good grief. Enough already.

No one cares if you knew him, and the daughter is probably better off without a criominal/homeless dad bothering her.

RIP- fine. But lets not change what kind of person he was.

The "fight" accounts are correct...he got into a brawl with another guy, apparently beat him down pretty soundly...but then the guy turned around, grabbed a weapon from his car, and stabbed him. His grandmother (my aunt) was at family's house last night and got the news at about 12:30am. It was a long night. I grew up with him (different cities, but lots of trips back-and-forth), but kind of lost touch over the past 10 years or so. As others said, he had his share of "demons", but had a really good heart. He'll be missed.
