What's this I'm reading in today's paper? The Mayor wants to hire someone to replace Petritonio but doesn't want to name him yet? Wasn't Peter just hired for that position? Something seems fishy here.

Peter left the city a few weeks ago. Rumor says it's Phil Antonelli. Based on how evasive he was Monday night, I'd say the rumor is fact.

Get ALL the Antonellis in with the Mayor. Greg is buying up all the property in Everett (see Everett Independent) and has the landscaping contract. So now Phil is getting a job. Mother used to work at the high school.

Seems that the high commercial tax is giving Carlo and his buddies the opportunity to buy up properties. So will they own the city soon. Heard that GTA is not the best landlord. Hope they stay away from my neighborhood.

I think Kevin Noonan got that job?

Kevin Noonan is the fleet manager or something but he's not the top guy. Peter was given that position when the other guy left. Apparently he had a falling out with Carlo & was able to get a comparable position elsewhere where he didn't have to kiss butt or deal with a liar & a thief.

Peter leaving Everett is one of the worst moves ever. Peter knew every one of the city workers stengths and utilized them. He also had the respect of all the men, and the guys respected him. the amount of guys we have working we accomplished a lot. Kevin is a great guy, but does not have the respect or knowledge of the inner works of running a city dept.As for one of the antonellis coming to Peters job, i dont think that is wise for gta, they can make more money working for city contracts, once Phil works for city, GTA cant work for city due to ethics violations, opening major lawsuits for the city and taxpayers, all the other contractors who bid on truthfull bids would be up in arms. Peter we miss you dearly but you made the right decision, we all wish management knew what they had with you as well, instead of siding with the junkies. I just hope I dont get stuck from junkies needle left in city trucks

Didn't Peter threaten the Mayor with a baseball bat?

Yes, he did. As I understand it, more than once. But, that doesn't change the fact that he was very good at his job & he will be sorely missed.

If Phil does take that position, it will be interesting to see how they manipulate the GTA situation. Since GTA is technically Greg, not Phil, I'll venture a guess that the king will find a way to continue to use GTA as much as he does now.

Lets face it folks, like it or not, he manages to get away with things that would put others in jail. I know I'm not the only one who would like to see that change but the fact is he really does seem to be made of teflon!

I'm very good at my job but if I threatened my boss with a baseball bat, I would probably be in jail now (and rightfully so).

While I agree with your statement, obviously Carlo didn't feel that way since he chose not to press charges or terminate his employment. For the record, the baseball incidents had nothing to do with the move to Melrose.

Peter Pet NEVER threatened the Mayor with a bat. He is one of the most respected men in this city. He also did a fantastic job for City Services. This city lost big time with Peter's leaving, but congrats to him if he left on principle that he was probably being asked to do things that were not legal. Good luck on your new employment. Melrose is getting the best.

Obviously I disagree with your first sentence BUT I agree 100% with the rest of your statement.

He had a disagreement with the then Purchasing Agent, Joe Pedula and it was during Mayor Hanlon's administration. That IS the truth.

You're right - Peter didn't threaten Carlo with a bat, it was a different Mayor he threatened with a bat. The Police were called and he was "escorted" out of city hall. What a guy!
