Facts just confuse people,
they really want stories like
"this one time, I saw a Pit Bull leap a 10 foot fence to attack a pregnant woman and 3 Nun's.
The dog was last seen headed towards Mexico, driving the nun's minivan full of donated clothes for the poor"

Any dog has the capability of attacking, even ones with the best owners. Hell, even cats can go berserk. It's in their nature. I think all dogs should be muzzled in public because they can get spooked and bite someone. Anyone else care to share their thoughts?

You might be right "wow" but I'm not going to shoot a beagle that wanders onto my property, but a pitbull will be dead as fast as its feet touch my lawn. Before anyone knocks me, whose fault would it really be that the dog gets killed? The person that didn't keep it chained up, that's who. I have no sympathy for them. Plain and simple.

Pit bulls do NOT have lock jaw that is a proven myth . I have grown up around pit bulls my whole life have never seen one nip or try to bite . It's just the morons who don't know how to raise them that make them violent .

Ok.. I own a pit bull.. I'm a single mom, my pants are not half way down my ass, I do not wear hats and I am a child care provider. Never smoked a cigarette in my life, so that rules out drugs. So, I'm basically telling every single person out there who stereotypes pittie owners how big of a. Losers you are and b. How uneducated you are. I took in a dog abandoned and used for fighting WHILE pregnant and trained him and he now lives in a home with not only tons of cats but 2 dogs and a ton of reptiles and SURPRISE, they don't distribute drugs and they wear their pants at their waist and they don't have side ways hats either. SHOCKING! Except not shocking at all. I had a stupid little ankle biting rat literally attack my pit bull & he didn't bark, didn't lunge, didn't even open his "locking" jaws. Soooooo viciois, right? All of you with those small dogs are on crack, I know more vicious 10-20lb dogs then my 60lb pittie. Incase your not aware, pitties were once called nanny dogs & let's throw you in a ring with someone who wants to kill you & see how you react. Either you lay down & accept your fate or try to save yourself but if you try to save yourself you must be vicious, right? WRONG. How about this.. Muzzle every breed, then nobody will ever get bitten unless you yourself start biting people and I hope that never happens. All dogs have teeth, right? All dogs are ANIMALS and animals can turn on anyone, right? Ok, great. I'm glad that's settled. A lab mix mauled and murdered an infant not too long ago.. Hmmmm, well, that just doesn't make sense its not a pit bull!? WRONG. Any dog can maul anyone at any point for any amount of reasons pit bull or pomeranian. If you knew anything about pit bulls, which you do not, you would know that they were once as american as apple pie. Every family had one. Helen Kellers dog? A pit bull. Petey from little rascals? A pit bull. So learn your facts or shut up.

Jess, you are a child care provider and you have a pit bull around them? I don't know any parent who would allow such a thing.

Oh and if someone shot my dog, rest assured I would not hesitate to press charges. I would consider shooting your little ankle biter, but I'm not cruel or vicious enough of a human being to hurt a dog who didn't do anything to anyone other then step on someones lawn. Take a look at what your saying about murdering a living breathing animal.. What if your children saw you saying this?? Is that a good example for the "great mothers" out there? Condoning killing and being so malicious about an animal? If that's how you raise your children I'm concerned for your mental health. Seek help, its clearly needed.

I can't stress it enough that pitbulls will be the creation of their owner. If you show your dog to be compassionate and caring, that's what you will have. If you show them to be aggressive and fight, that's exactly what you will have. Pitbulls are great dogs, beautiful dogs for that matter. The best sight is watching a pit at the mercy of their owner and how happy they get, like mine use to. Do your research folks.

Beautiful? Seriously? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they are ugly inside and out.

He's my favorite male singer right now but if the pitbulls come from across the street and charge at me again I will call the dog officer. I've already told you this to your face. Try putting them on a leash it might help. And if you are going to continue to. Have them loose out in the back yard, try fencing them in so there not leaving your yard and roaming the neighborhood. Afterall, all the other dogs are on a leash. You already know this but you keep instigating complaints.

The 'muzzle law' for pits is already in effect !!!! but I don't see any pitbull walkers/owners complying with the law. A loose pit is a $50 fine -- chump change to some of these druggies and gangsta wannabes ....

Did you read about the latest (to my knowledge) pitbull attack on a little 2 yr old girl in Chelsea ? Happened on Wednesday .... Unprovoked attack as I understand it ....

I have no problem calling a loose pit into the animal control officer - if she's not on duty, I call the EPD. and yes, they do respond to such calls...if it's a pit ....

So,
do the cops do a DNA test on the dog before writing the Pit-Bull-muzzle-tickety?

Or are all of EPD's finest now dog breed experts,
who can instantly determine breed?

Another stupid, unenforceable law.

It's interesting that you talk of brain damage in a post like this,

did you do your rough drafts on construction paper, in pink crayon?

Oh really? That's funny because pit bulls have saved many people. One day an ex roommate was getting physical and screaming in my face while I was 7 months pregnant.. Clearly a bad situation. The pit I took off of the streets did not like this so he began to bark & when he did that she would scream at him and lunge. So he did the next best thing in his effort to get her away and lightly nipped her feet.. Not even really a nip at all but even that did not get her to back off. Now this dog could have attacked her, he could have hurt her, she was threatening his "mom". Did he? Not at all. In fact she threatened HIM. But because he was protecting me she could never actually physically touch me.So, being the loving owner that I am I found a safe place for my dog and took my other pit with me to dog sit my uncles bishon & husky. All 3 were peas in a pod! You go on you tube & look for stories of pit bulls saving people & you find a ton. Articles even! I am in the world of rescue more specifically pit bulls & bully breeds & I see stories about the good deeds daily. Infact I am giving my rat terrier up since she is horrible around my 7 week old son, keeping my pit bull & getting abother pit bull because of how great my pit bull is with my son. ANY dog should be on a leash & in a fenced in yard. Again - your all ignorant. Talking about things you have not researched or looked into. If you only look for the bad, you'll never see the good. And right now you all look just as ugly as you THINK a pit bull is on the inside AND out. You think your malicious attacks on an animal make you look pretty esp when you have no prior knowledge only judgement? You look HIDEOUS, ugly as SIN. Your more vicious then the dogs and your a human.. Pathetic. That a human stoops so low. With people like you, who needs enemies? I honestly cannot believe what I am reading and I am ashamed of the human race when I read things like this. And I am ashamed of adults acting this way.. Seriously? Your grown men and women and this is how you act? Shame on you. This is why the youth this day & age are the way they are - people like you. No compassion, no sense of dignity, speaking so violently about something you have not educated yourself on.. And your raising children. This is the example you set? Again.. Shame on you.
