I,m a concerned parent like many of you giving what happenned at colombine high school.today at 11;00am everett high school evacuated for about half hourthen let back in for reasons I don,t know but maybe someone who reads this knows.my daughter is a senior and I can,t wait untill she graduates my heart is in my mouth everytime she leaves to go to what you hope is a safe place.Sad part is you usually don,t get information from the high school or police unless the principal Mr Baldi calls with the recording about the high school being evacuatedand that is was declared safe for everyone to come back in.I don,t know if it was a drill or another reason like a threat or a student with a weapon in the locker or in possesion.I now have a three year old and worry about the future more so nowadays.

Thanks for scaring us. If you don't know the details, maybe you shouldn't post things. Writing about weapons, etc. is just studid. Maybe it was just a fire drill.

I gotta say when I read this, my stomach turned. I have a child there also. I was very glad the other posters explained what was going on. Maybe next time you should ask if anyone knows what's going on instead of jumping to conclusions that something bad has happened. That's all.

The High School should have notified the parents of the children about this "viewing", or a letter should have been sent him to the parents telling them of this. Everett High School failed today.

It wasn't a viewing, but rather a sign of respect. There's no problem with that. If your child didn't want to go outside then they should have stayed inside. Oh well!

These kids are old enough in high school to decide if they want to stand outside and pay respects to their former classmate. I would have thought they "failed" if they did not let the kids out for the "viewing." If it were an emergency, they would not have had them loned up side by side along the sidewalk. Use commom sense people.

Lets not make a mountain out of a molehill and start pointing fingers for no reason. The kids were there to pay respects to the former football captain who tragically passed away.

Over the past two days i witnessed something in this city that i have not seen in years . The only really sad thing about it is it came at the expense of one of our children. For the last 5 days i saw this city turn back to the community that it once it didn't take a big game or a big election to unite this once proud community it took one of your children . What i saw were people pulling together to help this family a our youth to try to understand what happened. What took place at the schools today was a wonderful thing they did for this child and there family to show there support and their condolences . this is the first time in tears that the community came together and did something in a way that makes me proud to be from everett. So before you come down on not being informed by the school sit back and try to understand what some of these kids are going through. I applaude you everett and the kids in this community for standing together during a very tough time for all of us. P.S. WILL MISS YOU JOEY.

The kids were let out to watch the funeral procession. Hopefully with all the young ones that attended the wake, etc. they MAY start thinking about their own lives. This family just went through Hell but took time at the wake to talk with their son's friends about his death. My heart goes out to them.

The kids were let out from the High School as well as the Parlin and lined the street to pay respects to a former student. I'm not a FFF supporter but I think this was a grand jesture and a class act. Bringing awareness to our children of this tragedy just might save another child one day. We will all miss this young man and we will never know the potential that he may have had. God Bless JB and may he rest in peace. Thanks to the School Board and FFF for making the right call.

I have children at the Parlin School and I am very PROUD that they stood outside to pay their respects to the family of a young man who was lost to soon. No matter the circumstances surrounding his death. No matter what you think, that could've been any one of us in that limousine mourning the death of a loved one. Remember, there by the grace of God, go I.

I sympathize with you for the loss of your friend and I understand the anguish you may be feeling. But please read all the posts and you will find that 95% are all in support of your friend and his family. Remember there are alot more freinds here than you may realize. RIP JB... Roll Tide Roll.

What happened to Joe, I read that he passed but how? Its a shame, he was a good kid and too young to go.
