This is sad news, and I don't intend to detract from the unfortunate loss of life, but it is not called "Swine Flu," the proper name is H1N1. I expect more from the City's only major newspaper.

While every death is sad, I hope that we see as much coverage in the media when the "usual" 36,000 to 40,000 people are dying from the seasonal flu as they do each year.

It is unfortunate. Of course the Disgrace has to fuel the "frenzy" because it might be H1N1.

You would think the Disgrace is getting a kickback from each immunization given?? hmm....

I thought we weren't calling is swine flu any more?

That being said, I am sorry for the family's loss.

Sorry, it won't happen, it's not "sensational" enough for the local Dispatch media. H1N1 carries a different type of hype!

Very sad story. My condolences.

So, where are all the jerks who were here last week accusing the gvt. of "rationing" when they announced that health care workers should be first in line for the shot?

It was originally called swine flu, and another name was suggested to be used for some reason of political correctness, perhaps for the people who raise and sell hogs. In any case, it is well-known by both names. It's not a mistake to call it swine flu, H1N1 is just an alternate, and perhaps more dignified, sounding term.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Cancer

You're much more in command of your emotions today, which is just as well. You can get a lot done, as your personal energy and natural empathy is high. You'll be especially effective when it comes to clearing your desk of all the paperwork, and I'm not talking about shoving it on to the floor, either. If you've been waiting for news of a pay rise or bonus, it could arrive any moment now.
