The Gov't says they are cutting everyone's foodstamps in January. They will only give them to you for a few months if you are able bodied. So get up go out and get a darn job. NO full time school is not a job. No one told you to have a kid and then use my dime to lay around and go to school and not work. Contribute. Go part time and work full time. My dad did. Earned a Masters while working two part time jobs. NEVER used welfare not once in his life. He had three kids.

hey ignoramus, some people fall on hard times and lose their job because of no fault of their own,i wouldn't get on here and chastise people, you might find yourself in a situation were you're going to need food stamps

Retard, the op ain't chastising nobody. Just stating a fact that most won't admit exists. Way too many takers/leeches and not enough people putting in. They have a point, too. If you can't afford a child, DONT GET PREGNANT!!! Stop living off the backs of the working people in our country, get some self-respect and earn your own way. If you are capable of working and don't have a job, then I say u should starve. If you are disabled (really disabled, not some lame crap like being an alcohilic-its a damn joke for someone to claim they can't work because they are addicted to some bullshit), the system was built for people like you. Its these lazy mfers that are 3rd generation welfare leeches that piss me off. Granny on assistance, mommy on assistance, and now daughter goes out, gets knocked up by god knows who just to score a fu**ing check every month. Even if I'm wrong amd the lil whore dont do it for the money, she has no concerns about it because our weeping liberals will fund her sorry a$$ for the rest of her life. No responsibility required to have a bastard baby with some p.o.s. that won't take reaponsibility for what he or she makes... Once the government figured out they coild vote themselves raises the rest of us were screwed. Now the population sees they can vote in people that want them to be victims so they can have some morale soapbox to stand up on and preach about how bad the lpwer class has ot, and how we just have to support our helpless and umderpriveleged.. blah blah blah. These sorry fu**s would get their deadbeat asses out and work if we didnt shove them government assistance every chance we can.. if they can't fend for themselves, give em a hand up. Take the damn handouts away and see how miraculously people find a way to reap what they sow... I'm tired of the poor me victim mentality our government has allowed these pieces of trash to gain from....

I do get foodstamps as well has have a full time job. I think the cut in the amount people get is needed, although I also think Indiana should do what some States have started doing and drug testing those who need any form of government help.
I've always seen it as foodstamps do help many people that are going through a tough time. The people who use them the correct way by making sure the kids in the household have meals on the table shouldnt feel the least bit shame in having them. However the people who have kids crying because they are hungry but sell thier stamps for cash and/or buying pure junk at gas stations should have them taken away.
I've heard many people complaining about the cut isnt right, and they cant believe how they are taking (x)$ amount of stamps from them. Last I checked its a privilege to have them not a right.

uhh ohh the negro will be rioting in the streets over this one. Hopefully our government is trying to do some population control. Either way its good to see we are getting away from socialism and going back to capitolism. Its pretty simple. Work= food on the table. I bet all kinds of people finally stumble across jobs when they couldnt find one anywhere before or where no one would hire them because they "are black". All i can say is "its about damn time"

They need to stop signing all them nasty assets up for free phone service. I drove by family dollar and they were all lined up like it was free money. Sad that most of them were driving nice cars. I can't wait until this government quits supporting people. The only people who should get help, are those that have or have had a job in the last 6 months. Period.

The average person on welfare is a white woman with 3 kids. The highest percentage of applicants are white. Some people need to get their head out of their azz and maybe they could work and contribute too.

For all you racist people please come say it to my face I'm sick of it. I'm black work two jobs, and help at the food bank color has NOTHING to do with character,I'm so tired of all the racisim rather it be black on white or white on black or any other. Acting like there is a "superior race" just shows how one minded you are....I hope any racist has a job and eventually finds out someone who is a different race than they are is their boss!,or gets paid more than you grow up. Don't hate someone unless you have a LEGIT reason. Like I said though please come get racist in my face and see what happens I don't care where I am ill clock out o teach you a lesson if need be

I guess you don't keep up with current events. Boehner wants a 4 billion dollar cut in foodstamps. Do you know they spend 700 billion dollars yearly in fs? My son got a letter saying the Obama raised the fs during the recession and now, they are cutting them back. He only gets a whopping 38 bucks. Don't be surprised if you get a letter saying you are being cut by a few dollars. UGH

How dare you get on here and initiate a "come to Jesus" thread about people who are on food stamps while going to school and not even speak on your OWN personal experience? We don't care about what your DAD did. What are you Doing RIGHT NOW? That's the question, and that's what truly validates your opinion. Furthermore, two part time jobs equals up to ONE income. With three children?? How many pots of beans and weenies did you all have to make stretch for DAYS at a time? I can imagine quite a few. And you know what? I'm pretty sure that there were some months that in order to clothe, feed, and house yourself, your other two siblings AND himself, some kind of assistance was needed. So again, as I said, USE YOUR OWN STORY not someone elses' to validate your opinion.
This is an open forum. You can't tell people what to say or what experience to share. Maybe their dad did make it without assistance. Food stamps and welfare were not easy to get back in the 70's when my mom was struggling as a single parent. She work double shifts a plenty. Back then you had to buy your foodstamps and yeah we ate a lot of odd shyt and probably went hungry a few times. I think they are just getting tired of seeing people with 7 and 800 dollars worth of foodstamps and not working. I know plenty that are three and 4 generations deep on them and some of them have never had a job longer than a year.

I don't understand how people unless disabled or elderly justify getting assistance. So, I had only 1 kid after getting my degree and have a decent job, house, car, and a few dollars in the bank and now I must work a little harder because you want to go to school, had another child, or quit your job every other month. I have worked with several people on assistance. They quit within a month. Not saying everyone who is on fs doesn't want to work, but it's the picture I see when I watch you walk out the door while saying Medicaid pays more than your insurance so I am quitting to keep my Medicaid. huh?? So, the state and federal gov't rewards people for not working?? I don't understand the concept. People should be a little more intolerable about it.

I would think you would want to work a "little" harder to make sure that your child can follow in your footsteps and earn a college education as well and also so you can have more than just a "few" dollars in the bank. Let's just put it out there for all the students such as myself and for people who want to throw shade at full time students on assistance:
ATTENTION-->>> ACTIVE STUDENTS if you're going to go to school and recieve ANY assistance that taxpayers pay for, please be sure to finish, pay back all student loans in a timely manner, AND tell people who whined and cried while you attended school off their "dollar" to KISS YOUR A** when your done.
ATTENTION--->> HALF A** STUDENTS-->> please stop attending IVY TECH and getting the remainder of your financial aid and dropping. Because now students like the ones mentioned above are getting a bad reps behind it.
Now that everyone who attends school (both those that intend to finish, and those who just want false financial gain) have been addressed, kindly address the people who TRULY take advantage of this service.
Thank you
I know several people who go to school just to get the grant money. They get a few thousand dollars, quit, and usually have nothing to show for the money after a few weeks. All they have to do is write a letter saying how wrong they were and they will get it again after a few years. I know someone who did just that. Got grant money, dropped out, three years later reapplied, wrote a letter and they are back in school again. huh?? You don't have to pay back pell grants. So how will you pay back the gov't if you don't start paying taxes for a few years. They need a system that makes people pay back the gov't even if it's an extra dollar.

I get f.s. and I need them. Mine are getting cut. To all you people who put down pple that are on assistance; I can't wait till you need assistance of some kind. Alot of employers are going to turn full time employees into part time because of obama care. I can't believe how many people act like f.s. are breaking the piggy bank.don't any of you look at all the other worthless spending the gov spends? Are you going to insult pple on medicaid next? There are more pple than jobs!!!! You all might want to open your eyes and look at it from all sides instead of just " get a job".
