Hands down Los Bravos. By far the most authentic mexican restaurant in town. I litterally was just at the north park location an hour ago. I have been eating there for over a decade now . I have been and lived in Mexico and will tell you from first hand experience it is the best in town.

There are a few other restaurants in town that come real close, but none as good . You did ask for the best in town.

I usually get the chicken chimi - or the taco salad. There is a plethora of dishes to choose from and I do not know your taste so it is hard for me to tell you what to get.

The chili colorado is good as well , just bring ant-acids. The salsa was watery today , but it may just be that way because of who made it .

Im from LA and all the Mexican food out here sucks. Compared to how mexican tastes in the rest of the world evansville is blan and flavorless... And over priced.

Los Bravo is just the same... I been there twice and never wanna go back.

Best i found is La Cabana. And its cheap. I am white but i grew up on Mexican food my whole life and this place is the best in the area. They have stuff on the menu that you couldn't find at any other spots out here.

For example a Torta, real tacos like that i could get in East LA... And their Tortilla soup is amazing. An average about $4 cheaper than any other place out here...

Oh and they actually have mexicans that eat there... There is your sign of an authentic mexican spot.

Los Bravos is by far the best. The chicken taco salad is good but the shredded beef chimis are the best! Their salsa is usually really good too. Don't waste your time with Hacienda, it's over priced and has a piss poor selection. El Rio is also pretty good.

To the person that said Los bravos is authentic Mexican food.. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Either you're lying bout living in Mexico or you "lived" in cancun at a resort for a week. Go to Arizona, New Mexico, or anywhere that's fairly close to Mexico.. And try the food. Los Bravos is gringo "Mexican" food. If you served that as "Mexican food" on west coast/ in southwest you would get laughed at. Not trying to be negative but that person is so wrong I had to speak up..
