Needing advise please. What's everyone's honest opinions on this daycare? Anyone have any good or bad experiences to share?

I had a bad experience, I left after two weeks. This was about 5 years ago.
1. They gave my 18 month old a daily report card, with bad marks for not playing well with others, and just uneducated, rude comments. That was my first bad sign.
2. They were giving my 18 month old kool-aid for lunch and snack. Seriously, no one gives babies kool-aid anymore. Maybe for a treat, but not with every meal and snack! That was my second issue.
3. My daughters was always filthy and freezing cold when I picked her up. I'm not talking about filth from playing - food, snot, dirty face, etc.4.
4. One day when I picked my daughter up I saw two kids, app. 3 yrs. old, were in the kitchen, alone, going through cabinets.
5. There was a woman there who was mean to the kids. Just verbally as far as I know. I heard her yelling at them at least 2 different mornings - screaming things like, "I SAID SIT DOWN AND GET YOuR FEET OFF THE FLOOR I'M TRYING TO VACUUM!"
6. Last straw, one morning I went to drop my daughter off, there were AT LEAST 7 or 8 kidsrunning around behind the front desk area, including a BABY laying on th floor - no adult in sight. I looked around, found an adult who said the teachers were running late so she was watching them all up front.
THere was more, but these are the ones that bothered me the most. I suggest looking for a licensed in home daycare - it's usually more affordable and you get more personalized care, if you can find a good one.
Definetly NOT

You can check out daycares on IN.GOV and see what their last inspection was like. I was not impressed by them what so ever. What got me on their report was "leaving sippy cups under the changing tables" Gross!! I drive by there during the summer and it is unkept. The grass and rarely mowed, toys are not picked up and the teachers are not interacting with the childern on the playground. They sit from afar in plastic chairs and monitor while they play. I would rather them be up walking around in the event they need to get to a child (my child) in case of an accident. Do your homework and shop around

I believe the big problem here is the owner, Sharon Frey. She does not care for the children nor her staff. When my child attended I would hear her talk down to her staff for doing what was only right. I believe that she uses daycare funds for her personal use. All the toys in the building are broken, yet Ms. Sharon always has on new clothes and shoes and it never fails that she will have her hail and nails done. She told me I owed her money when clearly I had all my reciepts. I will never take my child back to this place. But maily due to the rude owner. I dont know anything bad about the teachers and such.

Both of my kids went there. In the corse of being there they lost my youngest son for an entire 45 minutes. He walked through the coded door as someone came through it . He then climbed over the reception desk and was out the front door. They found him 45 minutes later out front of the building and he was 3 at the time. They kicked both my kids out because they messed up.

Not too long before this happened a parent told me they wouldn't take their child back to bright beginnings because their daughter got her arm broken while playing unsupervised. She took a hit to the head and was laid out by the merry go round with a broken arm unattended. The person watching the children took all the kids in , but didn't see my friends child.

With reports like these I am glad they kicked my child out and did me a favor. They are lucky my child wasn't hurt.

I used to work at Bright Beginings and the oner is rude and she does spend the money that was for the day care on her self and not on the day care . The toys and puzzles were broken and the play ground had nothing for the childern to play with.. I caught the oner kicking one of the kids. I worked there for 6 yrs and then she cut my pay instead of giving me a raise . The oner Sharon would hire moms to work there and they paid her with vouchers and the oner told me that she had to cut my pay so she could pay them more cause she didn't want them to quit cause the vouchers they were paying her with was guaranteed money . That was very wrong and that place is unsafe and dirty and Sharon Frey the oner only cares about herself .she had a fund raiser that she said was to get new play ground equipment but she took that money and bought herself new furniture for her house . She is a bad person and should of never been around children cause if the truth be told she doesn't like children at all. The best thing she ever did was to close the daycare cause it wasn't fit for children to be in .

I enrolled my toddler there. The owner was really nice to me. However, when I picked up my son the second day I noticed a bite mark on his arm. The owner did tell me he had been bitten by another child (kids are kids). The staff that works there is not very educated. I noticed my child did not want to attend there so I pulled him out and enrolled him at high pointe. Sometimes you get what you pay for. My experience was not very pleasant but I did not complain.

I seen kids mistreated and so o also went to work there seen allot of abuse and when I said something they told me not to worry about it cause my child was good and wouldn't be abused. I should have reported it but I just took my girl out and moved on. The worst place ever to work and take you're child.

I took my son there earlier this year for a few months because I wanted him to get kid interaction because other wise he is with my mother-in-law. My son never complained about going there but my husband and I had odd feelings about the place. We had his name on a list for another day care but he wasn't going to be able to start until August of this year. My 6 month old daughter would go there as a drop in when my mother-in-law couldn't watch her. When Sharon told me that they were dropping the infant room because she couldn't find good staff, that was all I needed to get my son out of there. I felt bad for even sending my son ther. He has been going to Mt. Pleasant since August now and he loves it there and is excited when I tell him its Daycare day. Wish I would of waited until August to send him there. Glad to see this daycare closed.
