<quoted text>Really???? Would you be laughing if someone raped your daughter? Or would you be calling the police for help in finding the sick pervert who hurt her? Would you be laughing if someone shot your father in the head after robbing him of $20 on the street? OR ...would you be calling the police to find them? I hope you never have to call 911 but I can tell you this....if you do, they WILL be there to help you. They took a public service job because it is a sense of fulfillment to be able to help others in a time of need. I feel sorry for your parents. They must be terribly ashamed of you.
"sense of fulfillment" .....hmmm let me translat that for you. EGO-TRIP

Bacon Grease sounds like he has encountered the lawman at least once or twice. How do you really feel?

Ok then Missy...we will give you the benefit of the doubt. I am sure that your "child's father" (maybe known as Bacon Grease on here) wasn't on drugs before you got pregnant and I am "sure" you weren't either. In either case you knew about it first hand and knew what he was doing to break the law so guilt by association! I am sure you are some crack head or meth [email protected] yourself. I feel sorry for the innocent life that you are carrying. That is called a C.H.I.L.D. If s/he survives your abuse I hope that child protective services is there to be your welcoming party at birth. You are definitely a class act and mother of the year....NOT! Loser. Talk to your doctor or social services and get help for yourself and your family. Baby's daddy won't be around for a long time even if he doesn't go to jail and any income (legal or illegal) surely won't be going to his family to feed, house, or provide clothes for.

First of all I would like to say that I for one appreciate the police officers, deputies & troopers that work that often thankless, dangerous and stressful job. My nephew & his wife are deputies in the state of Maryland & I worry about them endlessly.
I was raised to respect the police. When you give fespect, you get respect. They are there to help you. Truthfully, the one time I was arrested, I brought trouble on myself so I have no one to blame but myself. But even then it was a "oops, me bad" I'll turn around, put the cuffs on me!
I have seen both sides. Most police officers remember why they wear that badge. It is the same in all lines of work. There are a few that think they are above the law that they took an oath to enforce. I once worked a Christmas Party that was for Broward County Fl Deputies. The majority of them were so drunk I don't know how they made it out of the parking lot. And some cops do ride that big ego train.
But you have to ask yourself this....what are you doing repeatedly that allows you to even know a cops name or usual demeanor anyway ? If I got pulled over & I followed instructions , spoke respectfully & s/he was still an ASS to me... Then I'm am going to know their name & they will know mine because their C.O. will have had a chat with them after reading my letter ( just the FACTS on the incident ).
Like I previously stated, you always have bad apples. A cop that thinks he is the cock of the walk is no different than a street thug that thinks he's the baddest dude that hit the bricks.
Bottom line is... Stop doing the crap the keeps the cops on your ass and it won't matter who the biggest assh&$e is.

But now a word to the officer that responded to "Baby Momma"... The best advice you gave her was to talk to her doctor & get help. I know that the police see it over and over and they become, for the lack of a better word, uncaring. But you don't know what that woman's situation was. She wouldn't be the first pregnant woman that has been beaten by her man, has nowhere to go, no family help cause Daddy raped & beat her too ! That's all she knows! You haven't walked in her shoes. You might have been her salvation, instead you judged her. So maybe, if in your years of service, you have to put an 8 month pregnant woman on the ground.... Once you have secured your safety , plop her ass to the ground face UP. You can still have your gun to her head, that's fine by me. But remember, in your own words that is a C.H.I.l.D. that you would probably be thrusting your full weight upon. Would you be willing to live with the guilt if your actions were just as harmful to that baby. S/he didn't ask to be at that drug deal .

Thanks for listening & thank you for the job you do

Yes there are good ones that keep us safe but there are few that really put a bad name out for some of them. The Sheriff is a nice guy and doesn't even know some of his guys are abusing their power or should I say he does know but ignores and hides the sit so he looks good for Re Election.

<quoted text>If you see them breaking the rules then it is your civic duty to report them. Why would you NOT turn them in? Be proactive people. Everyone wants to complain about them and yet no one does a damn thing! As far as them cheating~ do you think it is limited to Officers?!! How about the doctors, lawyers, firemen, factory workers, garbage collectors, cooks, waiters, and teachers? It isnt right but LOTS of people cheat. There are bad people in ALL walks of life. Dont take what a couple officers do wrong and condemn the whole bunch. We DO have decent officers on both of our Depts,EPD and Sheriffs.MOST of them do deserve our respect.
Thank you Mary Bug and Commen Sense for posting your thoughts. I have kept quiet for a while in respect to see what other opinions are. I do respect the other feedback that I got from my previous commet(s) without a doubt and totally agree that I may have misjudged her. Yes, my background is in public safety, as I have been a career fire chief/paramedic (lifeflight and SWAT team)/and law enforcement(patrol/narcotics/S WAT). I also served in the USMC as a combat veteran, so I know about self discipline. I am no longer involved in public safety as an occupation. Public safety is a choice that few of us choose to go into to protect YOU, the citizen. It isn't for the pay, or the benefits, but because we want to make the communuty in which you live a much better place for you and your kids or grand kids. Yes at times we have a rouge officer, or deputy, on the force. The employment process tries to flag these individuals upon the employment process, but yet some slip through the cracks. I will reiterate what has been spoken and that it should be your civil duty to report these idividuals to the proper authority so that they can be handled. Please provide the who, what, when, where and why's. Your honest reports and feedback count and are very important to keep the right individuals in public safety as well as maintaining the public's trust for those that serve you. As for the lady I spoke about in my earlier post...I sincerely apologize if an apology is due. Yes I do know know your history or your situation. I can only put myself in the position of the LEO at the scene.

If it was a felony stop and the the possibility that you or you husband was going to possibly not make me come home to my wife and 4 children that night that you were stopped/arrested because of a drug transaction, then yes you would definitely be on the ground with a gun pointed at you until I deemed the scene clear of any threats. You and your husband are not the ones providing food, shelter and protection for my family. You and your husband are also not the one's who believe in a safe, crime free community for my family, friends and neighbors. You are not the first pregnant person to be put on her belly and I can promise you that you will not be the last. In the same token, you could not have been the first pregnant person who has shot and killed one of my Brothers/Sisters in the line of duty as they served to protect their community. Unfortunately I know that there are unselfishly others nationwide that die every day on assumptions for people in your simialr situation. Luckily that night you didn't join their ranks. Yes, as a public safety official I would have tried to direct you to get help through counselling or medical treatment to better your life as your "husband" could probably care less. Alot of names are mentioned in this forum...none that I know of personally since I am from a long way from here. Do report to the police chief, sheriff or the state police. Make the complaints legitimate and have your proof WHEN making the report. For the meth heads, other criminals and those guilty by association, we (they) are coming for you. It's just a matter of time. I wish I was in on the bust again. We will take back our socitey and make this an even better community. If you are there when the crime has been committed and do not say anything you are as guilty as they are. There is no excuse, as you have a choice.

I have lived in Evansville for two years and I have found the E.P.D to be very professional and not out just to harass people. No matter what field or where you go there are scumbags and the police force is no different but the vast majority of EPD are upstanding respectable individuals. I come from a place with vast local corruption and Evansville doesn't resemble it one bit. I say good job EPD keep up the good work. Most people that complain you will find were probably doing something wrong or have a history of criminal activity. Obey the law respect the police and you will have no problems
