This is a long shot but I recently lost my iPhone 5 at hammerheads on Satuday night. My icloud account says that my phone is offline so the chances of finding through "find my iphone" is NOT likely.

The only reason I am making this post is because I have pictures of my newborn son on this phone and my heart is broken because I did NOT back them up.

I only had the phone for about a month and had no idea what icloud was. I will gladly give a reward for this phone! Please if you have any information please contact me at [email protected]

I have tried everything to try and locate this phone as well as make a police report, and I wont stop until I find it. Seems impossible to some but I wont give up. I just hope that someone has it in their heart to give it back. I know their are GOOD people in Evansville.

you need to contact your carrier asap! report it lost or stolen. all carriers now will shut the phone off and the acct of the person using it. it wont help you get it back but they cant use it either.

Thank you for your response.
So far I have done everything that needs to be done. Now I am just trying to reach out to the community. Not that it seems likely to help...but it's worth a shot to me.

if its AT&T all they have to do is put a different sim card in it. I've had the same thing happen to me. It sucks.

No it's sprint and they dont give a damn...they are ready for anyone to lose their phones they signed contracts with so they can now pay full price for a new one. Damn phone companies!

Even if its att they can block the phone and once it hits the system it's stolen it will suspend their line, I work for att and I see it all the time.
But anyway good luck and I do hope you can find it. Did you ever activate the find my iPhone app or sign up for iCloud? You can track it both ways and the find my iPhone app will actually give you directions to your phone!! And you can track with iCloud
Best of luck to you!

that's not what AT&T told me. They said there's nothing they can do without the find my iPhone app. Said even with that it was 50/50.

No faithfully is correct. When you call in to customer service and request your line to be suspended for lost or stolen they tell you that since the device was stolen then it can be placed on the block list. Therefore when the device's imei is detected on another line, that line will automatically become suspended and the phone will not be able to be used on any other account. I also work for at&t.

actually that's not true at all. If so, ppl would not be using so many stolen or "lost" iPhone's.

Well (lol) I sure do hope you are enjoying it. Maybe you need it more than I do. Every thing in this life happens for a reason, and some people were reaised to do the right thing. It sounds to me that the night I lost my phone, the one person who did find it was not raised to do the right thing. Hey who am I to judge. I hope that you really do have it. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope when you see the pictures of my newborn son you remember those are special memories I will never get back.

I hope for your sake that if and when you lose something important to you, that karma helps you out and instead of paying you back pays it forward.

Have a good night and best of luck to you. Why best of luck bc living with a smart ass mouth and a selfish heart will land you nowhere.

Im sorry I bet you really are such a great person deep down inside. The only real thing that matters in this situation is if you are telling the truth and you are happy with your choice. That really is all that matters.

Enjoy.

I saw it for sale on Craigslist 300bucks. That's not a bad deal for a finders fee

for all of you saying that At&t cannot block a phone you are wrong! I work on iPhones and have had my own line suspended 3 times since Christmas. I insert my sim card in customers phones when I update and then have to activate the phones. 3 times I have tried to activate a iPhone that turns out later to have been reported to At&t as lost or stolen. luckily At&t turns my line back on but its usually over an hour. but the phone cannot be used an At&t any longer. one of the phones I bought from an at&t sales rep and they couldnt even get it activated. there is a way around it but it only works on At&t phones but it still wont work on an At&t acct.

my biggest complaint is you cant contact At&t to find out if a phone has been reported lost/stolen before you buy it.

Actually what I said is true. I would know. I'm an employee and tel customers these things all day. Call customer care at AT&T and ask. The number is 1-800-331-0500.
As long as the customer wants the device on the block list then it will not be able to be used on any other account.

I dont believe you are an At&t employee. if you are then you need to be taken off the sales floor immediately and put back in training!

Oh and btw I don't work on a sales floor, and been with att for 4+ years believe what you want but this is not the place to argue. Tiffany is here trying to find a phone not trying to listen to someone bickering about something they obviously know nothing about.

Earl mine is a sprint phone and I would glady pay 300 for a finders fee if it was my phone ;) Ive been checking at least 20 times a day for my phone and have contacted every local business that deals with Iphones to have them keep an eye out for my phone..

Thanks everyone for your inputs
