Is the Pink Elephant still open? Thought I'd stop in for a drink. Whirl Inn? Jolly Roger?

What are they paying for roughnecks in Alaska? I'm sure I can still make em' bite. I almost always worked derricks. What's a derrickhand make up there?

Whirl Inn, Stagger Out, liquor in the front poker in the rear. hHven't thought about that place in years.

Man, I knew Evanstonia was behind the times when I lived there, but from the looks of this forum I guess most of yall haven't discovered the internet yet.

I grew up in Evanston, and made it through the boom in the 80's, worked at the Whirl Inn for a few years. Sold lots of "Whirl Inn, Stagger Out" hats and panties! Played many a game of floor darts (with toilet plungers) at Pete's Rock n Rye.
Several of the old honky-tonks are now churches, Billy's, Boomtown for a couple.
Town is pretty quiet now, but it rocked for a while there.

The Greyhound Bus Stop used to be right across the street from The Pink Elephant. We stopped to have a beer there everytime we passed through.
The bus drivers weren't keen on us stopping, but we always managed to make it back before they pulled out. I liked that place. Sorry to hear it's gone.

Drank and worked and played ball at the Whirl Inn stagger out. I was a roughneck 70s and80s drifted around but whenever I needed money I'ld make it back to Evanston-had alot of friends there. I moved to scoop shovel trl. park outside of ft.bridger, when they started stacking out the rigs I moved back to Ohio.Love my memories of Wyo!
