Furious in Iota

Saw this with my own eyes on a typical day at Iota High: Teachers gossip in halls while kids go crazy in classroom (especially GEOMETRY), principal getting coffee and watching all of this on his computer. 30 minutes later, same thing going on. Wow, so this is what the "best" school in the parish has come to. I didn't believe everyone when they told me, but I sure do see it now.

Sad to say, but it is true. There are a couple of us left who are the exception, but it is not at all what it was five years ago.

IHS was graded as an "A" school with the most recent test scores. As a contrast, Crowley High is a "D", if I recall correctly. Maybe a "C-".

Are things really that bad at Iota High, or are the complainers just the loudest.

First of all, Mrs. Souileau (aka Sunset), let's get some things straight. You were one of the worst ones to complain about people and situations at school during cheerleading, especially the teacher across from you and the secretary. You are so two-faced.
The truth is that when I started IHS it was an awesome school, but that all changed when the principal changed. Our best teachers left because they refused to put up with the racism, h0mophobia and stupidity that was killing IHS. Those who stayed decided to just start bad talking each other TO students, bad talking students to students, and let the school go down the drain because they didn't want to lose their EASY positions sitting on their butts when they should have been teaching. Those scores are because of the teaching of teachers who had already gone, the hiding of drug and other problems by the staff, and the intelligence of the students, so don't flatter yourself. You taught us to gossip, to write about our feelings which I have yet to do in college, and to be deceptive. I just hope those teachers who made a difference in our lives (who are all gone now) know that we appreciated them.

After you're done getting off your soapbox of being a 20 year old sh_t who thinks he/she knows everything, at least realize one thing: I am not, nor have I ever been, a teacher at Iota High. I'm merely pointing out the results the school is still producing.

It's not just the kids who have become concerned about the school over the past few years. When Bergeron and McBride left, things went to hell. I can't blame them for leaving. Iota became a place that good teachers couldn't teach at with a good conscience. Your precious scores have been up the past few years because of people like them who cared and a batch of very good kids. You now have a principal who hides rather than defends his students, talks about the homosexuals and blacks who ruin his school, etc. Just ask the fat blabbermouth in the front office who tells everything she knows. You also have teachers who won't stand up for their students because they have become too comfortable. I have had kids in that school, subbed in that school and have seen with my own eyes teachers flirting with students (Yes, you R.G.) and teachers talking on their phones instead of teaching. They badmouth the principal in the lounge and all over town but don't have the guts to come forward and make things right. All I can say is that God my kids are gone and God knows the truth. What goes around eventually comes around.

Mrs. G has been flirting with students for years and even went further when I was there with my best friend. A.L.
