Just retired and will start on medicare, the obomacare has over 13,000 regulations in it and the insurance companies I am trying to decide which one to use have all said the same thing, insurance premiums will go up next year and they don't know how much in 2014 until it goes into effect. Does anyone know what really is going to happen?

To answer your question. No. No one knew what was in the bill when they passed it. Most companies, ins companies, doctors office, patients are still scrambling to try to figure out what all is in it. Sorry. But really the answer is, yes, costs will go up. How much is unclear. The mear fact that govt will be more involved in your healthcare is one reason it will go up in itself.

I haven't read it all but there are many many stories on the computer from people with personal experiences where it was diffenetly not for the better. I have read some and for everything it msy have been intended todo counter actions are already being taken by employer's and insurance companies and again we will loose. It's a shame they don't make us all take a common knowledge test so we know at least something about both parties policies and plans before we are allowed to vote

I worked since I was a kid and now am happy to be able to retire, I hope. I should not have retired for 2 more years was what a good freind in the insurance company just told me today. He said 10,000 baby boomers are eligle to retire everyday now and the cost is going to go up but obomacare has cut over 700 billion dollars from medicare and the republicans want to make people under 55 to wait longer. I think us old folks and the young are screwed. We don't have any leaders in Washington with a lick of common sense anymore.

Your key word is "friend" in insurance, their trust rate is just a little below used car salesmen and pond scum. They love you when you are buying, but don't go to them with a complaint. They have very bad memories.

Obama care

Lawyers can't interpret it but progressives will do that for you.

Insurance companies are forced to cover everyone if they sell a policy it has to be a complete one for all.

Medicare has already been cut and seniors are paying more for less.

Seniors have no way of knowing that their care is decreased because if the doctor don't treat you for something they won't tell you that the government won't let them do so because of your age will they?

Doctors hate it, hospitals hate it, but progressives are delighted.

Oh by the way its the first piece of legislation that was passed with a open end add od it isn't written yet and it doesn't only cover health care it is available to cover anything it pleases they just write it in i'll bet you can't wait for 2014.

Nothing has been cut from medicare. What is paid to the Doctors for procedures has been adjusted but nothing has been cut from medicare. This is what insurance companies do all the time. They pay what is reasonable and customary for the area for procedures. So, if your doctor gets $450 to remove your tonsils, but the average in your town is $275...They will only pay $275 so your doctor has to decide, do I continue to treat medicare patients or not. I think I am worth more. He drops you and all medicare patients, other doctors pick you all up and they make more $$$ in the long run. Nothing new at all here.

So basically we will end up going to the doctors that have no business and need patients. I.e. not the good ones. Is this the case

Like I said, this already goes on among doctors and insurance companies now everyday. And whether they take medicare or not in no way reflects on their ability as a Dr. Just like now, whether they take BCBS in no way reflects on their ability as a Dr.

Obamacare Glitch Could Leave Some Families Unable to Afford Health Insurance
The IRS says it will determine if an employer's health plan is affordable based on the cost of covering an individual, not a family.
"It is unclear exactly how many people will be affected. "
I expect we should wait to see if it's a real problem before we start solving it. oh sheit.
sounds like its a real problem for those affected!!remember this was supposed to be the cure-all so that no one would be left without health care..well now there is an surtax of several thousand for smokers on the horizon, how about the chubbies??are you a little over weight??who next will be surcharged???what about those who don't adhere to all the preventative measures the government deems necessary??reckon they will need a surcharge to??Folks'what we got here is commonly know as a Pig in a Poke.

Liberalism is why the country is in up to the neck in debt with more failures to multiply in the future of a country turn socialist. It will be interested to see if the potus tries to run for a third term in 2016. If so, we will surely know the devil himself is the leading hand of our government and why the country has so many blind sheep. The country does not need a dictator for we know how dictatorship countries have turned out. Lose your freedoms for one man's glory?
