Ironically King James hated Baptists, and Baptists would not use his "authorized version" when it first came out. They despised his desire to control religion. It's this same desire of seperation fo church and state that drove Believers to America! The letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to assure seperation of church and state was written to the DANBURY BAPTISTS! They worried about being under a king who controlled again. It is only in the 20th century that some independents Baptists have re-invented the past and made King James into a saint-like figure. The KJV translation is fine. I'm not saying it's not, but these people pushing KJV only are disgraces.

King James did not like the Catholic teachings. The Roman Catholics killed men that wrote true bibles such as William Tyndale. On October 6,1536 Tyndale was tied to a stake, strangled, and then burned by the Roman Catholics for the truth found in the bibles he wrote. Why do you think the Catholics today use the NAB that have the Roman Catholic corrupted manuscripts watered in it just like the NIV?

You are lost in illogical thinking. Nowhere in scripture does it say God's word would be preserved in the KJV or even in the English language for that matter. Do you also believe every other language has an inspired translation? It's time for you to hush. You are not arguing by the Spirit or even by logic, but instead you are breaking Proverbs 3:5 and leaning on your own understanding. What you are teaching is not in scripture. Be it King James or otherwise, and the KJV translators NEVER CLAIMED TO BE FULFILLING THIS VERSE!! If they were perfectly inspired, they would have told us themselves, wouldn't they? We wouldn't first hear this from a group of uneducated ministers in the 20th century!
Psalm 12:6-7
"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
Which bible is the infallible, preserved, inerrant, inspired word of God if the KJB isn't? I can find errors in all bibles since the KJB.

Did you even read the link of what I said about King James not liking Baptists? It seems you ignore the things you have no answer for and go on a tangent. How King James felt about Catholics does not change the fact that he hated Baptists too. King James wanted control of England, including England's religion. Of course, he had animosity towards any group that got in that way.

Our Baptists/Puritan ancestors would be ashamed of this KJV only movement.

You can find errors in anything that you already believe has errors before you read it. Ask an Atheist. They do the same thing all the time....to the KJV.

How many times do I have to tell you that God is not English? His word is preserved in the original texts. Everything else is a translation. You won't let go of your "idol" will you?

Show me one error in the KJB. If the KJB does have errors then there has to be a bible today without error or God would be a liar.

What language is spoken in heaven. There is a verse that says for thy word is settled in heaven for ever. Do you think it is Hebrew and Greek that's spoken there?

Why do the KJB haters slander King James? They lie and say he was gay also, even though he fathered eight children and did not alter the word of God to fit this perverted life style as the Queen James writers did. The QJB is word for word like the KJB except for eight verses telling the truth about sodomites. The Catholics did kill men of God for keeping his words preserved. This is documented. King James was a protestant.

Why do people who call themselves Christians waste precious time arguing about an earthly king instead of telling them about our Heavenly King Jesus Christ? So much talk about a translation and so little about the God of the Bible. This is one of those "useless arguments" the Bible speaks about. More concern for a translation than there is concern for lost souls. Independent Baptist beliefs. Worship the word instead of the God of the Word!

If you want to be a sincere student of the Bible then you should study the Greek and Hebrew languages. It might surprise youins at the Independent Baptist church that Jesus spoke The Greek language, and Paul wrote his letters in Greek.

Thanks for the article, bro. "No!" to the HIV, errr NIV.

Matthew 17:17 It was because of their unbelief, not their little faith because the next sentence states with faith as much as a mustard seed... Fast and pray the unbelief away.

Actually, the NASB is a closer/more literal translation of the original Greek New Testament.

Listen up here first. I'm not criticizing the KJV. I'm criticizing the fact that you "lean on your own understanding" instead of leaning on God and His word. No where in the Bible does it say "how" God would preserve His word. I can give you my opinion, but it would be just that. My philosophy is to teach what the Bible SAYS...not what I feel or think.

An Atheist would attack the KJV Bible verse "Thou Shalt Not Kill". He would say that this verse is an inconsisitency because in other verses God commands the Israelites to kill. Do you believe "Thou Shalt not kill" of the KJV is perfect, or do you believe "God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow"? Which one do you believe???

I believe the word of God is preserved in (1) the hearts of Believers and in heaven, and (2) within the original texts of Greek and Hebrew. The Hebrew "Torah" does not say "Thou Shalt not kill". It says something closer to "Thou shalt not unlawfully kill" or "Thou shalt not murder". This is just one example for you. The KJV translators, in their attempt to translate word for word, did not correctly get the context across. God is against murder. He is not against a murdering being executed for the protection of society and He is not against killing someone to protect your family from attack. He is against murder and unlawful killing.

Pray about this please. Let's not continually argue. You are putting your traditions above God's word if you keep believing in something just because you were taught it growing up.
