WE WANT MORE moneys given to Henderson County Humane Society. We Want and Need animal control that will come out and help us. We are in our 70's and two Pit Bull Dog Mom's and eight pups are left to starve in Geno's vacated house with no food or water. We have called for help. There is NONE. Death to these dogs and Geno going scot free is NOT right.
If this commission would do these two things at top of this letter it is a great start. Our county HAS money. Put some of it in this rightful place. The sooner the better.

I visit the Brierwood Bay area every year and am appalled at the conditions I see dogs and cats are forced to live in. Why is it that most people would rather "turn their backs" and save a dollar when it comes to animals who can not fend for themselves. We are all GODS creatures so lets take a stand and help the innocent ones.

Henderson County is definitely in need of strict animal control ordinances. Brierwood Bay is a favorite dumping ground for unwanted dogs and cats, and also has a number of animals owned by persons who do not vacinate, or spay or nueter their animals. Therefore we have stray puppies and kittens which die by the dozens from starvation, mange, getting run over or eaten by stray dogs or varmints.
Low cost spay and nuetering would help with some of this problem.
People in the Bay area have picked up strays and taken them to the shelter in Athens because we cannot get anyone to come out here and catch these poor animals, but we can't get them all.
We definitely need some help in Henderson County.

We also live in Henderson County, also in the Lake Palestine area. We live in Thousand Pines Estates. Dogs are dropped here all of the time. We try to find homes for them. Right now we have 2 strays that are sweet dogs, great personality, loves to swim, loves to play ball, excellent guard dogs. We have 3 dogs of our own and can't take any more. We need help out here. It's a crime to have these wonderful dogs starve. We need more than one dog catcher and a larger and better facility for the strays. Spend $$ commissioners now for the situation if you want our vote.

I came on line this morning to find the number for Animal Control in Henderson Co. I see now that there will be no help from this direction. We are constantly dealing with "dropped off" dogs in our area. We're now dealing with the 3rd drop off in as many months. 2 very gentle and VERY malnurished red hound dog pups. We cannot keep these pups, but I won't watch them starve either. Where do we go for help??? Henderson Co. resident.

we are in the Mabank area of Cedar Creek Lake we called animal control and the police this past weekend when we were out 4 wheeling 3 pit bulls ran at us and tried to bite and then got in a fight amongst themselves and hte two males slaughtered a young female, animal control did not come and the police did nothing. these blood thirsty dogs are still running loose they did not even contact the owners and we were right in front of their house.... these dogs need to be put down if nothing else the owners need to be held accountable by law enforcement.

Not only are they talking about catching more dogs!!!but about raising Henderson Co.taxes,,,
we live cornering two co. and have to pay taxes for both,,thats ok we got wise,,were selling our home and moving where we only have to pay taxes for one co... We also have dogs dropped off on our streets, I feel so sorry for the animals, no food no water how cruel can a person be,, We were fortunate enough to live in HI. and there they have cages to put your unloved or unwanted animals into 24 hrs a day, no money no questions,,just dont leave them on the streets..I thought that was a good idea. but back to tx. maybe some of those taxes weve been paying will go to animal shelters.

Everyone needs to support an ordinance that will help the county care for strays and nuisance animals. We need to cram Judge Blaylock's email and voice mail with our concerns. If he doesn't do something, then don't re-elect him. It's that simple.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Cancer

No one can accuse you of being a wallflower today! The modern cowboy or cowgirl has a tendency to shoot from the lip and you won't be afraid to tell it like it is. Your response will be quick, and your timing near perfect. If you don't accomplish what you set out to do this morning by the end of the day, it won't be for lack of trying. Getting an 'A' for effort is sometimes better than facing the test.
