The Stonehouse is nice to get a glass of wine/cheeses--they serve 'flight' type food. its very well-done inside. The locals go to Chelsea's at night. You can usually ask to see who the good bands are. The Grand Taverne has a neat small bar and the food is great. Lunch--Local Flavor Cafe

p.s.--"Ermilios" an Italian restaurant on the Northern Trolley Loop is a good place for dinner or the Grand Tavern at the central hotel

i would check out the treehouses.com or the Rock Garden cottages. also check out Can U Canoe if you want to stay further out from downtown Eureka--grand views and hot tub overlooking white river. you can google Lake Lucerne cottages, too a little outside of town
